958     Royal Air Force D Type flying helmet.
A good clean example of the 2nd pattern worn during the Western Desert campaign. Cotton exterior with silk lining and elasticated chinstrap. GC (£80 - £120)
959     Royal Air Force Night Fighter Ace’s Tunic.
Worn by Air Commodore Harry Edward White, CBE, DFC & two Bars, AFC. A good example of the RAF service dress uniform with Air Commodore rank lace to the cuffs. To the left breast padded post 1953 Pilot’s wings and three rows of medal ribbons comprising: CBE (Military), DFC, with two rosettes, AFC, 1939/45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, with rosette, Africa Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, GSM, CSM, EIIR Silver Jubilee Medal, Oak Leaf. Complete with anodised buttons. The interior retains original tailor’s label with ink name “H. White 1971”. Accompanied by overalls VGC (2 items) (£100 - £150)
Air Commodore Harry Edward White was born in 1923 and on enlistment lied about his age joining in 1940. After pilot training he was posted to initially to 534 Squadron and then transvered to 141 Squadron operating Beaufighters. His roll was to engage enemy Night Fighters attacking Bomber Command aircraft over Occupied Europe. His first kill was made at Aachen on the 3/4 July 1943. By the end of the war he and his observer were credited with 12 aircraft destroyed and four damaged. Remaining in the RAF In the post war years he held various posting including CO of 46 Squadron and his last posting was with RAF Germany. He retired with the rank of Air Commodore in 1977 and passed away in March 1990
960     1942 Royal Air Force Foreign Service helmet
A good clean example. To left side a pagri flash comprising blue, sky blue and red. Leather sweatband retaining paper size label 7 and dated 1942. Minor service wear GC. (£50 - £75)
961     Great War Period Aerial Flechette.
A scarce example of the pencil type used by both British and German Forces over the Western Front. (£30 - £50)
962     Battle of Britain Period Irvin Flying Jacket.
A good example, with a single seam to the back, indicating an early war issue. The interior with short brown fur and complete with all working zips. Retaining small AM label indicating M40 Leather remains supple, GC (£200 - £250)
963     RAF pre WWII Log Book & Ephemera.
This collection of material covers the RAF Career of Squadron Leader C.L.McAllister a wireless expert. Comprising: Aircrew Log Book first entry 10th December 1927.... Photograph album taken in the Middle East during the early 1930’s... A second photograph album WWII Middle East. ... Plus a large quantity of training note books photographs etc. (£100 - £200)
The log Book records flights from the 10th December 1927. These appear to be mostly WT checks. However on the 26th May 1928 he records bombing a village He flew in various aircraft including Bristol Fighter. Serving during the second world war, he received a commission and served in North Africa. Following the end of the war he remained in the RAF
964     WWII RAF issue Aircrew Whistle.
Clearly stamped with both a Crowned AM and stores reference number. (£35 - £40)
This pattern of whistle was worn by both RAF aircrew and members of the 8th Air Force operating over Europe.
965     RAF WWII small paper escape map.
A rare small example of the tissue escape map of the pattern issued to RAF aircrew. This example is sheet L33/3 2nd edition titled Sopron. Two small holes otherwise GC. Size 12 x 14 inches. (£60 - £120)
966     WWII “Fly” Escape and Evasion button compass.
A scarce two piece blackened brass example. The lower section with a pin, placing the second button on top, this marked with dots indicating North and South, the upper sections swings as a compass. GC (£40 - £60)

967     RAF WWII Issue Escape and Evasion swinger compass
Two examples, with dot markings indicating North and South. GC (2 items) (£40 - £60)

968     WWII period RAF Officer’s service dress cap.
A regulation pattern complete with bullion cap badge and black leather chinstrap. The interior with leather sweatband. Slight service wear. GC Good size (£60 - £80)
969     British Aircraft Corporation manufacturer’s promotion model.
This plastic table top model, depicts the 1960’ 1970’s BAC 111 airliner in BAC livery. Complete with chrome stand. A little age wear approximately 90% of transfer remain. Wing Span 15 inches. GC (£30 - £60)
970     WWII period C Type flying helmet.
An interesting example of the second type, with elasticated chinstrap and complete with wiring loom. The lining is covered with a number of ink inscriptions including a Skull and Cross bones drawing. Fitted with a H type oxygen mask bearing WWII pattern large switch (Jan 1946). Leather remains supple, some service wear GC. (£100 - £120)
971     WWII Pattern RAF C type leather flying helmet and G Type Mask.
Second pattern example, with elasticated chin strap, fitted with internal wiring loom, ear phones and jack plug. Complete with a G Type oxygen mask, which remains in supple condition with very little wear to the rubber and retaining copper wire, rubber mounts appear intact. The pair appear to have been always worn together, some service wear and would benefit from a light clean. (£300 - £320)
972     RAF Indian Carved cigarette box.
This wooden carved table top box in decorated to the lid with RAF Pilot’s wings. The interior fitted with two compartments. GC Good colour. (£30 - £50)
973     Royal Flying Corps Military Cross winner’s photograph and RFC Frame.
The photograph is postcard size and depicts a pilot wearing the RFC maternity jacket sporting wings and MC ribbon. Fitted into the original bronze frame mounted with a pair of bronze RFC wings. Complete with leather backing and stand. GC Image clear. (£50 - £100)
974     1918 Royal Air Force Pilots photograph by Lafayette.
A scarce example of the high society photograph. Depicting a half length portrait of a pilot wearing the 1st pattern khaki uniform and cap. His pilot wings can be clearly seen a well as Lieutenant’s rank lace to the cuff. Signed in pencil and retaining the original leather folding table frame. Little wear. Near VGC. (£180 - £220)
975     Battle of Britain pattern 1939 dated RAF B Type leather flying helmet.
A good example, the interior with tailor’s label, of Frank Bryan 1939. Retaining ear pads, earphone mounts, original robber padding and working zips to the leather earphone covers. The interior lining is damaged to the velvet pad and a little of the leather. Not visible from the exterior. Overall GC leather a little dry, but supple, surface cracking to one leather cover. (£250 - £300)
976     RAF WW2 compass escape button
Brown bakelite pattern usually worn on denims, trousers etc. Reverse bears three dots indicating North and South. Button is used by removing from garment and attaching length of cotton to shank to allow it to freely rotate. GC (£30 - £60)

977     Great War German Airship Altigraph (Altimeter).
A rare example of the issue pattern Hohenschreiber, that records the height of the Zeppelin during its flight, this example with a range up to 8,000 meters. The height is recorded of a paper covered cylinder. The protective case is made of polished mahogany, with a window to view the height recorder. Also to the front is an inspection sheet, indicating last checked 6th June 1918. To the top and bottom are four loops that would have originally supported the bunges that would have supported and stabilised the instrument in the control car. Near VGC. (£700 - £1,000)

978     Royal Flying Corps 1912-18 swagger stick.
A good example with bamboo shaft bearing thimble pattern nickel top embossed with a pair of RFC pilot’s wings; complete with ferule. GC (£30 - £60)
