909     25th Foot King’s Own Scottish Borderers historical photographic Record of Officers.
This rare selection circa 1880 comprising: 63 Cartes de Visit depicting Officers of the Regiment wearing various patterns of uniforms, including the 1868 pattern tunic with shako, shell jacket with kepi style forage cap with bullion number to the front. A number of the Officers are in civilian clothes. Most are named and fifty are contained in an original green leather bound album. The overall condition is good images clear. (£100 - £200)

917     The Defence of Rorke’s Drift original watercolour by Jack Cassin-Scott.
The dramatic painting was used to illustrate the front cover of “Uniforms & Weapons of the Zulu War” by Christopher Wilkinson-Latham. . The painting depicts the 24th Foot standing in line with Martini Henry rifles, bayonets fixed, firing at the oncoming Zulus. In the background, fire begins to engulf a building.
