966     Kings Own Scottish Borderers Officers scarlet doublet. A fine post 1901 example of melton cloth with dark blue facings to the collar and cuffs. The collar, edged with gold thistle lace and Russia braid, retains bullion and silk embroidered badges. Each cuff bears three lines of bullion terminating with a button that is repeated on the skirt flaps. Complete with Regimental buttons and shoulders cords bearing Captains rank stars. The interior with deeply quilted cotton lining. Scarlet remains bright, bullion and lace fresh. VGC. (£200 - £300) |

A good example of the 1880 pattern with green facings to the collar and cuffs; complete with bullion regimental collar badges and gilt regimental buttons. | 968     107th Kerry Militia ORs scarlet tunic circa 1870. A rare example of the Other Ranks scarlet tunic, with slash cuffs and yellow facings to the collar, cuffs and shoulder straps. Retains 20 of the 22 white metal regimental buttons (Crowned Shamrock, Regimental title and number). The interior with a white blanket lining. Scarlet a little dusty. | 969     87th PoW Own Irish Fusiliers Officers Mid Victorian shell jacket. A scarce light weight example for service in a hot climate. The shell jacket is of scarlet cloth with dark blue facings to the cuffs and collar. The latter retaining large bullion flaming grenade collar badges, mounted to the ball with the Imperial Eagle. The shoulders retaining bullion cords. Complete with only eight Regimental buttons of the pattern adopted by the Regiment in 1855. Bullion dulled, now with moth holes and large number of buttons absent. (£200 - £300) |
| 970     25th Bengal Native Infantry Officers coatee circa 1830. A good and rare scarlet melton cloth example with yellow facings to the collar and cuffs, the tails are with white facings. To the front, a double row of ten silvered regimental buttons (2 absent). The button design is flat, with 25 to the centre, within a ring and wreath. To the cuffs, four loops of bullion lace each mounted with a regimental button (3 absent). The collar is with a double loop of silver lace. The shoulders are with eyes for epaulette lace attachments. The back has two regimental buttons to the crown of the tails and tailored with false bullion pocket flaps, again mounted with eight Regimental buttons. Retaining tail ornaments of the Garter Star with 25 to the centre, against a yellow ground. Silk lining now shot. Scarlet remains bright, little age wear GC. (£600 - £700) The coatee is believed to date from 1829 to 1831 and has undergone some retailoring during its working life, buttons moved to accommodate a person with a larger chest. This may indicate that the coatee was purchased by a fellow Officer, following the retirement or death of the original Officer and the coatee sold within the Regiment. |
| 971     Royal Buckinghamshire Hussars Officers regimental pattern Mess jacket. A good dark green cloth example of stable pattern with scarlet coloured facings to the collar and dark green cuffs. Silver bullion shoulder cords, rank now absent. The jacket is edged with Regimental silver flat lace, which is padded to the chevron design to the cuff and seed buttons to the front. | 978     Royal Meath Militia 19th century Officers scarlet shell jacket. A fine and rare example of the short stable pattern undress jacket with dark blue facings to the the collar and cuffs. The latter mounted with four silvered regimental buttons to each. Two further buttons can be found to the silver twist cord epaulettes. The jacket is edged with flat silver lace; quilted crimson silk lining.... Accompanied by a scarlet waistcoat, again edged with silver lace which also decorates the pockets..... Also Overalls of dark blue cloth, with silver and scarlet silk lace. GC Scarlet fresh, little age wear. | 983     Wiltshire Regiment Officers frock coat. A very fine double breasted dark blue melton cloth example by Jones & Co, Regent St. Pall Mall, London. The front ornamented with two rows of six gilt metal regimental pattern buttons; four buttons to the skirt plaits and two on each cuff. Each shoulder strap bears two bullion Bath rank stars indicating Lieutenant. Black cotton lining with tailors label for Jones & Co. bearing ink details B. H.Goodhart. 1/ Wiltshire 16/11/09 Collar badges absent. GC (£80 - £120) Promoted Lieutenant 1911 and Captain in 1915. Awarded MC. and 1914 Star. Served France and Flanders. | 984     4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards Sergeants mess jacket. A pre WWI example of stable jacket form. Scarlet wool cloth with dark blue velvet facings to the collar and cuffs. The the shoulder plaited gold cord epaulettes. To the right sleeve bullion Sergeants chevrons of shamrock pattern lace and Kings Crown above with evidence of NCOs sleeve badge (now absent). To the cuff, a pre 1901 bullion Crowned crossed rifles (Sgt Instructor). To the left cuff bullion crossed lances (pre 1907 denoting front ranks of dragoons). Below this badge bullion crossed swords (Best swordsman of the troop). Complete with quilted cotton lining and regimental pattern buttons. Scarlet has now dulled and with moth damage ...
