450     282nd Glamorgan & Monmouthshire Field Regiment Royal Artillery Drum Major’s sash
A fine and scarce post 1961 red leather backed example by Henry Potter & Co. 36-38, West St. Charing Cross, London WC2. Black cloth, edged with gold lace with central crimson silk line, with gold embroidered Crowned EIIR, applied scrolls “288 (Glam & Mon) Regiment” and another below “Royal Artillery”. Between the scrolls, an applied chrome plated Royal Arms plate of 1st Monmouthshire Artillery Volunteers and similarly plated 1st Bn. Monmouthshire Regiment post 1925 Officer’s pouch belt plate. Either side of the plates, a small gilt tipped wooden drumstick. Bullion tassle fringe to lowest part of the sash. Generally VGC ... together with a Monmouthshire chrome waist belt clasp (Immortals style circlet with Dragon to centre) and a Victorian Royal Engineers waist belt plate mount now fitted to rectangular chrome buckle (fixed belt loop present, detachable belt loop now absent). 451     Calcutta Scottish Officer’s waist belt and plate.
A fine and rare example, by Phelps & Co. Calcutta, Simla, Lahore & Quetta, of two inch silver thistle lace lined with crimson Morocco; silvered rectangular plate mounted with crowned saltire bearing Arms of Calcutta in gilt. Near VGC. (£150 - £200)
Formed as Calcutta Scottish Volunteers on 1st August 1911 becoming 44th Calcutta Scottish on 1st April 1917 and Calcutta Scottish 14th October 1920.
452     Royal Scots post 1894 Officer’s waist belt and plate.
A good scarce example of two inch gold thistle lace lined with crimson Morocco; gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver star of the Order of the Thistle with gilt and green enamel centre. Slight wear to lace. GC (£100 - £150)
453     Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) post 1902 Officer’s sword belt.
A good scarce black patent leather example with both fixed and a sliding sword slings complete with silvered rectangular seeded plate with burnished edges mounted with crown, mullet, strung bugle and thistle spray. Some service wear. GC (£100 - £150)
454     Royal Scots Fusiliers post 1881 Officer’s waist belt and plate.
A good scarce example of two inch gold thistle lace lined with crimson Morocco; gilt rectangular seeded plate mounted with silver St. Andrew and Cross within an open thistle wreath; “Royal Scots Fusiliers” scroll across the base. Some service wear. (£80 - £120)
455     Black Watch post 1881 Officer’s levée dress sporran.
A fine and scarce example by R & HB Kirkwood, 66 & 68 Thistle St. Edinburgh. Gilt cantle with raised thistle border St Andrew and Cross to the centre. White goats hair body with five gold bullion twist wire tassels. Red leather backing and pocket to reverse. Bullion a little dull. GC (£300 - £400)
456     Royal Navy Officer’s Full Dress Epaulettes, Sword Belt and Foreign Service Helmet.
This set was worn by Artificer Engineer William J Robins. Comprising: full dress bullion epaulettes with silver bullion fouled anchor device. The underside with brass securing slide ... Regulation woven sword belt with post 1901 gilt clasp and two lines of bullion. These housed in the red velvet lined japanned tin, the lid bears white painted name “R.J. Robbins RN.” ... Royal Navy Foreign Service Helmet. A good private purchase white cloth example with white folded pagri the top fold blue. Green cloth lined, the edges bound in fine white leather. The interior with leather sweatband. this with crimson cotton edging. Tailored by Townends London. Contained in original metal storage tin. again with painted name to the tin. The overall condition is good but a little age wear to bullion of the epaulettes. (3 items) (£200 - £300)
Artificer Engineer William J Robins served during the Great War and in 1918 joined the Battle Cruiser HMS Princess Royal.
457     Life Guards Officer’s pouch and pouch belt
A good post 1902 example. The pouch of black simulated leather mounted with a rich gilt regimental device, with scarlet velvet to the crown and backing and incorporating the Battle honours “Peninsula”, and “Waterloo”. The belt of two and a half inch gold oakleaf lace, lined with red Morocco and edged with blue velvet; bears scarlet cord secured by gold braid. Complete with plain flash gilt buckle, tip and slide. Little wear, lace and gilt remain bright. (£200 - £300)
458     Life Guards Officer’s gold waist belt and clasp.
A good scarce example of one and three quarter inch oak leaf pattern gold lace with thin line of black Morocco backing either side and bearing a post 1901 clasp comprising a seeded gilt rectangular plate, mounted with the regimental device, surmounted by a King’s Crown. The overall condition is good, some service wear. GC (£100 - £150)

459     Royal Horse Guards Officer’s waist belt and pouch belt.
An Elizabeth II example, of regimental pattern, gold lace with central line of crimson. The rectangular clasp of seeded gilt mounted with a Royal Arms. Remains in near Parade condition VGC .... Accompanied by an Officer’s pouch belt. This of gold lace with central scarlet line and retaining scarlet flask cord. Complete with ornate buckle tip and slide. Near Parade condition VGC. 460     Household Cavalry Other Rank’s cuirass.
Both front and back plate are nickel plated, each plate is edged with a brass band and ornamented with brass studs. Lining to the front and back plate of leather. Complete with brass shoulder scales Minor service wear, remains in good clean condition. (£350 - £400)
461     Royal Horse Guards Officer’s cuirass.
A good and scarce example comprising of front and back nickel silver plates complete with gilt brass shoulder scales. The front plate is edged with gilt brass and studs. The centre bears a high comb and complete with gilt spring clip. The back plate is again with gilt brass edging and studs. The shoulder strap attachments bear a pair of silvered lion’s head boss’s and the straps are with silvered floral studs. Lining of red leather and velvet edging of regimental pattern. Little service and age wear. GC .... Accompanied by a white leather strap. (£600 - £1,000)
462     Rifle Brigade mounted Officer’s charger’s throat plume.
A good example of black horse hair with silvered plain ball pattern boss. Complete with leather strap. VGC. (£50 - £100)

A good example of scarlet and white horse hair with silvered spiral ball pattern boss. GC (£50 - £100)
464     Calcutta Light Horse post 1902 Officer’s dress pouch.
A fine and scarce example with dark blue cloth face edged with silver lace. The face is finely embroidered with silver wire crowned CLC cypher resting on padded tri-part scroll “Defence not defiance” all resting in an open wreath; the cap of the crown in blue velvet. Complete with red Morocco covered zinc box, ornate nickel ends with plain belt loops. A little moth to motto scrolls otherwise generally VGC. (£300 - £400)
Formed as Calcutta Volunteer Lancers 22nd August 1872; reconstituted as Calcutta Mounted Volunteer Rifles 07.10.81; designated Calcutta Mounted Rifles 01.10.86 and Calcutta Light Horse 20.05.87. Blue uniform with white facings. Hon. Colonel, the Viceroy of India. In March 1943, members of the Calcutta Light Horse set sale in a barge “Phoebe” on a daring mission to Goa where they sank the German ship “Ehrenfels”. In 1980c this remarkable mission was made into a film “The Sea Wolves. The Last Charge of the Calcutta Light Horse”.
465     Life Guards bridle from an Officer’s charger.
A rare 19th century first pattern bridle of black leather complete with regimental bit. To each side of the bit, a regimental boss. The harness retains black leather reins. Also accompanied by a full dress set of bullion reins. The bullion is of regimental pattern. Bullion dulled leather remains supple, little dry to parts. (2 items) (£200 - £300)
466     Major General’s pair of holster covers
A scarce pair, each of dark blue melton cloth with central embroidered Major General’s rank device of crossed sword and baton with Bath Star above. The device is encircled by two broad bands of gold bullion lace of acorn and oak leaf design. Fitted with replacement buttons, bullion dulled, some service wear. (£100 - £200)
467     Pre 1889 shabraque of a Lord Lieutenant of an English county.
A rare and very good example of dark blue cloth edged with silver bullion lace of oak leaf and acorn design. Both the front and hind quarters bear embroidered rank device of Bath Star, crossed sword and baton with a crown above. Retaining cotton and leather backing. Very little age wear, bullion remains bright and fresh. (£200 - £400)
During this period a Lord Lieutenant of a County was considered the equivalent to the Army Rank of Major General, thus the use of the rank device
468     Yeomanry Officer’s cased silver mounted pouch pouch belt and sword slings.
This set of accoutrements remain in very fine condition. The pouch belt is of silver lace of acorn and oak leaf design, mounted with a gilt boss, which supports gilt chains and prickers. Complete with ornate floral decorated buckle, tip and slide, these bearing a silver hallmark for Birmingham 1923. Red Morroco leather backing ... The belt is accompanied by a pair of silver lace sword slings, this with silvered Billets ... Pair of cavalry pattern silvered bullion shoulder cords with Captain rank insignia. The silver bullion is in near mint condition Contained in original velvet lined storage tin. (£220 - £260)
The vendor has attributed these to Baron Carmichael’s family.
469     5th Bombay Cavalry (Scinde Horse) Officer’s silver pouch with pouch belt.
A good scarce red Morocco lined gold lace pouch belt with central crimson silk line. Silver buckle, tip and slide by J & Co (Jennens) bearing 1890 Birmingham hallmarks, whistle and holder with 1891 hallmarks. Plate of Crowned wreath, half laurel, half palm, with “SC” cypher to centre. Two strand chain from the plate to the whistle. Pouch with silver flap (HM 1888) mounted with a gilt metal crowned VRI cypher. The edge of the flap is with deep engraved scrolling floral decoration; the box is of crimson leather with two gold bullion lines and is complete with both floriated ends and silver hallmarked belt loops. Some service wear. GC ... together with a chatelaine style device comprising a pouch belt (as above) fitted with broad flat hook on the reverse. Four chains hang beneath the plate supporting the silver whistle in its holder. GC (£300 - £500)
Raised 1839 as Scinde Irregular Horse; redesignated 1st Regiment Scinde Horse in 1861; redesignated 5th Bombay Cavalry in 1885; auxiliary title (Scinde Horse) authorised in 1888. 1903 became 35th Scinde Horse

A scarce pre-1901 example. Patent black leather flap mounted with gilt metal Royal Arms. This with title ribbon “Western Division” Complete with pocket and three D shape sling rings. Minor congealing to flap, badge retaining some of the Gilt finish. GC

A scarce pre-1901 example. Patent black leather flap mounted with a silvered Royal Arms. This with title ribbon “Aberdeenshire Artillery Volunteers” Complete with pocket and three D shape sling rings. Minor congealing to flap. GC

473     Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Officer’s silver mounted pouch belt.
A good scarce three inch black patent leather example with silver furniture by J & Co. (Jennens). Plate comprising crowned thistle wreath, to the centre, the Mullet over a strung bugle, below a scroll inscribed “The Scottish Rifles”, seeded backing plate (HM 1881) (one of lower wreath twigs AF). Circular whistle boss composed of 16 leaves, each inscribed with one of the Regiment’s battle honours, mounted with the Dragon (HM 1908). Three strand chain terminating in Egyptian Pharaoh’s head whistle housed in its Sphinx and thistle ornamented holder (HM 1896). Complete with collapsable wallet style pouch bearing thistle (HM 1894). Some crazing etc, to patent otherwise GC. (£250 - £350)

474     Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Officer’s pouch belt.
A good three inch black patent leather composite example with silvered plate comprising crowned thistle wreath, to the centre, the Mullet over a strung bugle, below a scroll inscribed “The Scottish Rifles”, seeded backing plate. Circular whistle boss (stamped PF) composed of 14 leaves, each inscribed with one of the Regiment’s battle honours, mounted with the Dragon. Three strand chain terminating in silver Egyptian Pharaoh’s head whistle housed in its Sphinx and thistle ornamented holder (one screw post absent) both by PF bearing 1882 London hallmarks. Complete with collapsable wallet style pouch, the face with metal thistle ornamented edge and badge comprising crowned mullet over a strung bugle set between thistle sprays. Traces of patent finish to leather only. (£200 - £300)

475     Blues and Royals Music stand drape.
A good scarce Royal Blue velvet example with bullion fringe. To the centre, a large bullion embroidered Crowned Garter with Eagle to centre on a crimson velvet ground; beneath the Garter, a crimson velvet scroll inscribed “The Blues and Royals”. A little service wear with one or two tassels missing, Bullion to device remains bright. (£150 - £200)
The eagle is borne by the Regiment to commemorate the Royal Dragoons capture of the French standard of the 105th Regiment of the Line at Waterloo by Captain Clark (later Lieutenant General Sir Alexander Kennedy Clarke-Kennedy) and Corporal Styles. Royal Horse Guards amalgamated with the 1st Royal Dragoons in 1969 to form the Blues and Royals.
476     The Queen’s Royal Lancers trumpet banner.
A scarce double sided example of red cotton. To the centre, the regimental device embroidered in coloured silks and bullion. Edged with a gold lace band and bullion tassels to the case. Little service wear, tassels dulled. (£60 - £100)
Formed in 25th June 1993 by the amagamation of 17th/21st Lancers and 16th/5th Royal Lancers.
