1155     Late 19th century English cut steel Court sword.
A good example with hollow ground slender triangular blade with etched decoration. The hilt with steel shell guard and grip all with cut steel decoration. Housed in steel mounted black leather scabbard with cut steel frog stud. Scabbard leather near broken through at top of chape otherwise overall. GC (£80 - £120)
1156     1796 Heavy Cavalry Dress Pattern Officer’s sword.
Straight double edged tapering blade with short central fuller. The hilt is with fire gilt solid shell guard and single bar guard. The grip is of steel twist wire. Complete with original brown leather scabbard with fire gilt mounts. Fitted with two loose rings, the top mount is with frog button and cutler’s details of “Odell 17 New Bond St London” The sword is now with some age wear, gilt worn to the base metal. The sword will fit fully into the scabbard but is very tight. GC (£200 - £300)

1157     1796 Light Cavalry, Light Dragoons Officer’s sword.
A good example with single edged curved blade bearing etched decoration of a mounted Officer and title “Light Dragoons” this to both sides. Hilt of regulation pattern, with steel stirrup guard, with plain pointed langets. Grip retains traces of the leather cover. Housed in the original steel scabbard, Retaining one of the two loose rings. Blade remains in clean condition. Scabbard has been painted blackened, hit with rust (£300 - £500)
1158     1st Life Guards Victorian Officer’s State pattern sword.
A scarce 19th Century example, the single edged blade is plain. The polished steel guard is mounted with entwined gilt metal letters L.G , with 1 to the centre, surmounted by a crown and bears gilt metal stud decoration. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with original steel scabbard with plain regimental gilt metal mounts and two loose rings. The sword is with age storage wear, one brass leaf overlay to the guard absent. Scabbard with rusting. Overall GC. (£400 - £500)
1159     8th Royal Irish Hussars Heavy Cavalry Officer’s pattern Sword by Wilkinson London.
This example was carried by Lieutenant John C. Holford of the 8th Hussars during his service in South Africa. Blade etched with floral decoration, Crowned reverse entwined VR Cypher, retailer’s details. of Wilkinson London and blade numbered 36485 (indicating the blade ordered 1899). The blade with additional etching of the Regimental device and title and initials “J.C.H.”, this below a family crest. Steel full honeysuckle guard with chequered back strap and pommel. Shagreen grip handle with twist wire binding. Complete with a polished steel scabbard fitted with two loose rings. Blade in clean condition, etching clear. Scabbard and hilt with age storage rusting. 1160     Victorian Officer’s Mameluke hilted sword.
The single edged unfullered scimitar blade bears etched decoration of a Crowned VR Reverse entwined Cypher and also crossed lances. Retailed through Jones 6 Regent St London. Fire gilt cross guard mounted to the centre with a Crowned VR cypher. Housed in a polished steel scabbard with ornate gilt mounts to the two loose rings and square chape. The sword with some storage wear, steel to scabbard toned to black. (£200 - £300)
1161     19th Century Japanese Sword.
This example is circa 1900. The blade is a length of 26 inches. Fitted with a iron Tsuba this decorated with a Dragon device picked out with gilt. The bound grip with gilt mounts. Complete with a lacquered scabbard of spiral design. Overall GC. (£400 - £500)
1162     Royal Naval Division Great War Officer’s fighting sword.
A rare Wilkinson Sword example. The slightly curved single fullered plain blade is etched with the cutler’s logo only and numbered 47320. The hilt is of the Royal Navy regulation pattern, with solid gilt guard mounted with a crowned fouled anchor. Gilt lion’s head pommel with full mane to the backstrap and with a white shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in brown leather field service scabbard with Sam Browne belt. Blade in very clean condition, gilt toned and the leather to the Sam Browne belt is very dry. (£400 - £600)
Wilkinson Sword made a small number of these swords and all had plain blades. Attributed to Lieutenant Alexander Redpath Mollison who was appointed a Temporary Second Lieutenant 21st July 1915 and Lieutenant in February 1917. After being wounded with the 14th London he transferred to the RNVR and then served in the expedition to Tanganyika. See Lo 690 for his Medal group. After the Great War he moved to France and was here in 1940 when he was interned in a German prison camp. See Lot 1083 for his German Internee armband and photograph.
1163     Irish Guards Great War Officer’s sword by Wilkinson.
A scarce example by Wilkinson Sword and numbered 53785. The blade is etched with the Crowned regimental device of the Order of St Patrick and decorated with a GvR Crowned cypher. An etched panel with the initials “B.S.C.”. The regimental device can also be found in the open guard of the hilt. Housed in brown leather field scabbard (chape absent). Some staining and light rusting to the tip of the blade, particularly at the point, not effecting the etched decoration. Plating to the hilt worn. GC (£180 - £220)
1164     Light Infantry Victorian Officer’s sword.
An example of the levée pattern 3/4 inch wide blade, with etched decoration of a crowned VR Cypher and strung bugle device. This device can be found to the guard inclosing a shagreen grip. Housed in steel scabbard, fitted with two loose rings. Remains in good condition with some age wear and age patina (£100 - £120)
1165     1847 Infantry pattern Officer’s sword.
A good example retailed through Hobson of London. Single edged straight blade decorated with a VR reverse entwined cypher surmounted by Crown. Also with the sword retailer’s details and etched initials “W.W.W.” Gilt metal hilt with crowned VR cypher, shagreen grip and copper twist wire binding. Housed in steel scabbard fitted with two loose rings. Etching remains clear, slight wear, scabbard with dark patina. (£120 - £180)
1166     WW2 Period Japanese Army Officer’s Sword.
A good clean example with military pattern tsuba and housed in original field scabbard, with leather covering. Blade length 26 1/4 inches. (£300 - £500)
1167     Imperial Russian Cavalry Dragoon Officer’s Pattern Sword.
This example with a straight 33 inch long blade, of which eight inches are decorated to each side with an engraved panel of floral and military decoration highlighted in gilt. To the back of the blade is script and the date 1863 again highlighted in gilt. The hilt with a fire gilt guard and single bar guard. Turned pommel with a twist wire grip. Scabbard absent. The gilt remains bright, slight wear to the blade. (£300 - £500)
1168     Imperial Russian Catherine II Life Guards Chevalier Officer’s Sword.
A rare example with a straight single edged blade. Each side with an engraved panel depicting the Crowned cypher of Catherine II and date 1765. The hilt with a fire gilt guard, this incorporating a gilt panel embossed again with Catherine II Cypher. The quillon forms a thumb guard with floral decoration. The hilt with a serpent’s head and a white shagreen grip. Gilt remains bright and fresh, blade has been cleaned GC. (£800 - £1,000)
1169     1803 Infantry Pattern Officer’s sword.
A fine example. The single edged curved blade is with blue and gilt decoration of a crowned GR cypher, with an Infantry Officer standing with sword to hand. The reverse is with Royal Arms and a trophy of Arms. Cutler’s details of Woolley & Deakin Improved Steel can found to the back of the blade/ The blue and gilt decoration covers half the length of the blade and is approximately 80% present. The hilt is of fire gilt with lion head pommel, leather grip with copper twist wire binding, a crowned GR cypher is incorporated within the guard. Complete with original black leather a gilt metal mounted scabbard, with two loose rings and frog button. the gilt remains bright Good Condition. (£600 - £800)
1170     Yeomanry Officer’s 1796 Light Cavalry Pattern Sword, with unusual Guard.
This example with a single edged curved blade is with engraved decoration of a crowned GR cypher, with a mounted cavalry Officer with sword to hand. The reverse is with Royal Arms and a trophy of Arms. Cutler’s details of Gill Warranted can also be found. The hilt with an unusual three bar scrolling guard, plain pommel and backstrap. The leather grip with twist wire binding. Complete with original steel scabbard with two loose rings. The blade shows only traces of the blue and gilt decoration and with some staining. The hilt and scabbard are matching in age patina, but with pitting. (£300 - £500)
1171     Imperial German brass hilted side arm.
This example closely confirms to the Saxon Model 1845. Heavy straight single edged blade. The hilt of solid brass with S shape cross guard and ribbed grip. Complete with original brown leather a brass mounted scabbard. Slight age wear GC. (£80 - £120)
1172     Victorian 1822 Pattern Sergeant’s sword.
A scarce example with plain piped back blade, with issue stamp of a Crowned 13. The hilt with a brass open guard with Crowned VR Cypher also a shagreen grip with twist wire binding, Accompanied by a later plated scabbard, this with two loose rings. Overall GC Clean Condition. (£100 - £150)
1173     Ceylon Rifles Victorian Officer’s sword.
A scarce mid 19th century example of a Light Infantry pattern with a piped back blade. This etched with floral designs, Victorian Crown and strung bugle and title “Ceylon Rifles”. The open guard bears a Crowned strung bugle device, shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with a steel scabbard fitted with two loose rings. Etching to the blade is now faint. Both hilt and scabbard are dulled to near black patina. (£100 - £150)
1174     Elizabeth II Period Infantry Officer’s Sword By Wilkinson.
A good example of the Regulation pattern. The blade with etched decoration incorporating a EIIR Cypher and cutler’s details (blade not numbered). The hilt with infantry pattern guard with EIIR Cypher. The shagreen grip with wire binding. Complete with a steel plated scabbard with two loose rings. The blade is in near parade condition, the guard requires a polish, plating to scabbard with rust blisters. GC (£150 - £200)
1175     1952 Soviet Naval Officer’s dagger with belt and straps.
A good example, the plated blade etched with maker’s logo and 1952 and numbered N10916 on the reverse. Cream ivorine grip, pommel bearing CCCP device. Housed in original gilt mounted black leather scabbard with two loose suspension rings; the top mount ornamented with fouled anchor to obverse and sailing ship to reverse. Complete with both straps and waist belt secured with snake clasp between two lion’s heads. Dagger generally VGC, belt and straps with wear to gilt furniture. (£75 - £100)

1181     Crimea War Russian military issue percussion converted musket
A fine and rare example of the pattern commonly used by the Russian Army during the Crimean War. Plain steel barrel, bearing proof stamps. The converted flintlock plate still retains brass pan but bears contemporary fitted heavy set percussion hammer. It is dated 183* and bears Russian maker’s mark. Three brass barrel bands held in place by spring retaining clips. Brass trigger guard and heavy brass butt plate clearly stamped with the Imperial Eagle and Crown. The stock with faint circular maker’s stamp. Complete with a steel ramrod. The woodwork has been stripped and re-polished at some stage. GC, minor rusting to the steel work. (£300 - £350)
1182     East India Company Brown Bess flintlock musket
An example of the East India Pattern 39 inch barrel with London proof stamps. The lock with ring neck cock, and the plate bearing EIC Lion and dated 1810. to the lock tang. Full stock, with brass furniture, to include butt plate, trigger guard and three ramrod pipes. Complete with stock cap, original ramrod and sling swivels. Steel with bright polish, clean condition GC. (£300 - £500)
1183     India Service Brown Bess flintlock musket
An example of the East India Pattern 35 inch barrel. The lock with ring swan cock, and the plate bearing the maker’s name of Hurst. Full stock, with brass furniture, to include butt plate, trigger guard and three ramrod pipes. Complete with stock cap, original ramrod and sling swivels. Now fitted with a later brown leather swing. Steel work tarnished. GC. (£300 - £500)
1184     Indian Pattern 1839 Percussion Musket
This is a smooth bored 39 inch barrel, bearing London Proof Stamps. A Percussion lock plate utilising old Flintlock parts. The plate stamped Tower with crown and with a military pattern hammer. Full stock plain woodwork fitted with brass furniture with four ram rod pipes Retaining original Steel ram rod. Slight stock crack to rear of action. Metalwork and brass now with dark patination ... Accompanied by a 1839 socket bayonet. Scabbard absent (2 items) (£150 - £200)
1185     1869 dated Snider three band Volunteer Rifle By BSA.
A good example with .577 inch barrel. The lock bearing stamps BSA 1869. The rolling block is stamped “Snider patent and BSA Co”. The barrel bears a number of proof stamps etc. Complete with ram rod and rear sight. Full stock woodwork, with chequering to the wrist and fore-end. The barrel retained with three steel bands. Brass trigger guard, end cap and butt plate. Retains original swing swivels with black leather sling. The rear of the butt has been extended during its working life. (£400 - £600)
1186     Victorian Coast Guard pattern percussion pistol.
A fine example with 6 inch barrel, bearing ordnance marks, with captive swivel ramrod mounted below. The lock plate engraved Fred Barnes & Co London. Polished wooden stock with brass furniture, and long belt hook to left hand side. Good working order with tight action. Minor wear generally GC (£200 - £300)
1187     WG Army Model Boer War Imperial Yeomanry Officer’s Webley Service revolver.
A scarce example of a 455/476 Webley revolver. The top flat of the barrel stamped Army & Navy CSL. Fluted six shot cylinder. Blued body frame stamped Webley’s Patent and the winged bullet. Chequered wooden grips, with lower lanyard swivel ring. The rear of the grip frame engraved “R. Nickols 36th Batt IY From the Officers of the 1st W.R. V.A. Slight grip damage, otherwise good condition. Complete with official deactivation certificate. (£500 - £700)
Lieutenant R Nickols is confirmed as serving with the 1st West Yorkshire Royal Garrison Artillery Volunteers prior to service with the 36th Company of the IY.
1188     Late American Civil War period Rogers & Spencer percussion revolver.
A scarce good example with octagonal rifled barrel, this with under-leaver loading bar, and solid frame, Stamped to the top flat of the barrel Rogers & Spencer Utioa NY. Smooth six shot cylinder, wooden slab grips, with post Civil War Bannerman retailer’s stamp. 60% of bluing remains. Good Condition, matching numbers. (£500 - £700)
1189     Napoleonic War Period British Military Flintlock Pistol By Egg of London.
Smooth bored 14 bore steel barrel, marked to the top “D.Egg London”, together with various proof exception marks. Military pattern lockplate with line edge engraving, Crowned GR Cypher to the central section and D.Egg to the tang. Well figured military pattern walnut full stock woodwork with brass heavy butt cap, trigger guard, S shape side plate and single ram rod pipe. Complete with brass tip wooden ram rod. Wood work re-polished steel now bright GC. Barrel length 9 inches. (£400 - £600)
1190     A Pair of Flintlock Duelling Pistols by Fisher of London circa 1800.
A fine quality pair with heavy octagonal browned Damascus twist barrels, with half under-rib. Maker to the top flat in gold inlay “Fisher London”. Gold lines to the breech and the rear tang, with acanthus scrolls and V sight. The stepped flintlock lock plate with sliding cock safety and engraved with floral design and the maker “Fisher”. Swan neck cock with line edge engraving, gold lined waterproof pan and roller ball frizzen. Fine quality figured walnut half stocks, with chequered grip and steel butt cap engraved with floral designs. Single steel ram rod pipe, steel trigger guard with pineapple finial. German silver end cap and escutcheon. Complete with horn tip ramrod this with a worm screw. The pistol are now housed in a refitted contemporary mahogany case. Accompanied by... Ivory handle screwdriver... Brass body leather covered three way powder flask ... Cut steel oil bottle ... Associated steel bullet mould. The pistol remain in fine condition, the walnut of rich colour. Barrels possibly re-browned some time ago. (£4,500 - £6,000)
1191     Belgian Flintlock Sea Service Pistol
Smooth bored plain barrel. Lock with swan neck cock, heavy frizzen and spring. Plain tapering front stock with brass end cap and cross pin escutcheons. Long extension brass trigger guard leading into a flat ended butt cap with steel lanyard ring. Minor wear to woodwork steel with dark patina. GC (£200 - £300)
1192     Late 18th Century Continental Flintlock Pocket Pistol
A good quality example the short half octagonal barrel with inlayed gilt and silver floral design. The lock plate with maker’s mark “M Dvina” Flintlock swan neck cock, burr walnut full stock woodwork with carved edge designs. Heavy steel fluted long ear butt cap, fluted side plate, trigger guard and ram rod pipe. Mother of pearl escutcheon sent into the walnut. Steel work polished wood work rich colour. Overall length 8 inches. (£350 - £500)
1193     Early 19th Century Balkan Fine Quality Flintlock Blunderbuss
This example with a steel barrel is heavily overlaid with silver scroll and foliage design, which cover approximately 60%. Continental style flintlock plate, with stylised scroll maker's name and pineapple design engraving. This design continues onto the swan neck cock and steel frizzen. The walnut stock is profusely carved and chiselled with flowers leaves and basket weave panels. Also silver wire inlay work. Steel trigger guard, butt plate, side panel and ram rod pipe. These again with decorative silver overlay. Slight crack to woodwork underneath the lock plate action stiff. Other wise Good Condition timber of good colouring. Overall length 21 inches. (£500 - £700)
1199     Early 19th Century Continental flintlock holster pistol.

This example with a smooth bored 12 1/2 inch plain barrel. Early banana shaped lock, this with chiselled edges. The swept back ring neck cock, with open hole. Fretted frizzen spring. Full stock woodwork with full brass furniture. The trigger guard with pineapple finial. Side plate cast with cannon and battlefield design. The long ear heavy butt cap with a floral design to the base. Remains in clean condition.

1200     Seitengewehr M1898 bayonet.
A good example with two piece wooden grip; the blade bears an issue date 1904. Housed in steel mounted black leather scabbard. Complete with 1898 dated black leather frog. Minor age wear, creasing to leather, now does not fit fully into the scabbard. GC (£60 - £100)
1201     Late 18th Century Indian Katar.
This example with double edged blade with armour piercing point. Chiselled and fluted central section, with a foliage chiselled forte. Hilt of typical design, with double hand grip and arm bars, these heavily chiselled in a geometric design. Complete with original leather covered wooden scabbard. Slight damage to the tip. Overall length 19 3/4 inches. (£120 - £150)
1202     19th Century Pesh-Kabz
Single edged T section blade, wider at the forte, leading into a steel ferrule. The hilt with a two piece bone slab grip, with ear top. Contained in original leather covered scabbard with brass chape ... Accompanied by a similar example with white metal ferrule and velvet covered scabbard. Overall GC little age and storage wear. 1204     M188 Lee Metford Bayonet
double edged plain blade, steel crossguard and pommel. Wooden slab grips secured by 2 brass rivets. Housed in its brown leather and steel mounted scabbard. Clean condition. The bayonet is mounted into a white buckskin bayonet frog, with issue stamps indicating the 4th Bn Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry “4 OX”. GC (£40 - £60)
1205     1915 Imperial German Seitengewehr M1898/05 saw back bayonet
A good clean example. The sawback blade bears maker’s details of Erfurt and 1915 date. Two piece wooden grip. Housed in metal scabbard, now polished. Some minor age wear. GC Fitted with a black leather bayonet frog, (£50 - £75)
1206     Martini Henry 1879 Artillery sawback bayonet.
A good clean example with straight short fullered blade with sawback edge. Bears various issue and inspection marks to the blade, with the date November 1882. The hilt with two piece leather grip and spring locking bar. Housed in black leather and steel mounted scabbard. Good clean condition. with a little staining. GC (£180 - £220)
