| 2     44th (East Essex) Regiment Officers Waterloo shako plate 1812-16. A very fine and rare example in die-stamped copper gilt, standard rococo crowned outline bearing the GR cypher with 44 below. Two original copper loop fasteners. VGC (£700 - £900) |
| 3     Royal Marines Officers shako plate circa 1866-78. A very fine and scarce example. Gilt crowned star mounted with a laurel wreath surmounted by a scroll inscribed Gibraltar and bearing a gilt fouled anchor to the junction below. Pierced strap Per Mare Per Terram on blue ground (originally enamel, replaced with blue card). To the centre, a silver globe in relief (fitted upside-down), the Continents picked out in gilt. Two loops to reverse, both pinched, one a replacement. Minor split between crown arch and orb otherwise VGC. | 4     Royal Marine Artillery Officers busby plume holder circa 1866-79. A very fine and scarce example. Gilt flaming grenade, the ball mounted with a laurel wreath surmounted by a scroll inscribed Gibraltar and bearing an applied silver fouled anchor to the junction below. Within the wreath , a pierced Per Mare Per Terram strap on blue enamel ground. To the centre, a silver globe in relief, somewhat vague Continents picked out in gilt. | 5     Royal Munster Fusiliers post 1881 Officers fur cap grenade A very fine example. Rich gilt flaming grenade, the ball mounted with a deep wreath of laurel intertwined with scrolls bearing the battle honours of the Regiment. Within the wreath, the Arms of the Province of Munster viz. a silver shield mounted with three gilt crowns. On the junction of the wreath, a scroll in silver inscribed Royal Munster. Reverse with two screw posts (both bent). VGC (as KK 936) (£200 - £400) The Eagle and tablet inscribed 8 represents the Eagle on the flagstaff of the 8th French Light Infantry captured by the old 87th Fusiliers at Barossa on 5th March 1811. |

Gilt flaming grenade, the ball mounted with pierced Crowned Garter on blue enamel ground; within the Garter, the Rose in gilt. Below the Garter, in silver, the White Horse. A good quality example in die-stamped copper gilt and silver, a circular crowned Garter Proper, the raised centre with a black velvet ground, upon this in silver the Sphinx/Egypt. The three central backing wires missing, two loop fasteners officially removed for the provision of two pagri style clips. Slight wear to the velvet otherwise VGC (£80 - £120) This pattern was worn by the Gloucestershire, East Lancashire, South Staffordshire and South Lancashire Regiments. |

A good quality example in die-stamped copper gilt and silver, a circular crowned Garter Proper, the raised centre with a black velvet ground, upon this in silver the Prince of Waless crest and motto. A very fine and scarce example in die-stamped copper gilt, of standard crowned laurels pattern but with the Garter Proper replaced by a strap West India Regiment, VR cypher to centre. Silver floreated 2 applied to the base of the wreath. Two loops to reverse. Contemporary reinforcing bar between crown and wreath on one side otherwise VGC. (£200 - £300) |
| 12     95th (Derbyshire) Regiment, Officers Shako plate 1825-1829. An extremely rare and magnificent example in cast copper gilt, silver and rich blue enamel, a large gilt crowned Garter Proper, the motto pierced and with a background of blue enamel, centrally on a silver domed disc milled gilt numerals 95. Large period loops North and South. The copper clips for retaining the central disc broken and missing otherwise mint state. (£500 - £600) An East and West 95th Regiment was raised in 1825 with the title Derbyshire. This therefore is the Officers first pattern shako plate. |

Crowned laurel wreath, the centre mounted with silver Maltese cross bearing laurel wreath and strap Bengal Infantry with floreated 107 to its centre. Two loops to reverse. A scarce example in heavy brass, a central crown on a lined ground with the full title on the circle, Royal North Gloucester Militia. | 24     Sussex Artillery Militia Officers helmet plate circa 1899-1900. A good scarce example. Gilt Royal Arms, pierced around the shield, with applied scroll below bearing laurel spray. Below the scroll, a gun with mounted wheel resting on an applied scroll Sussex Artillery. Three loops to reverse. Gilt worn otherwise GC. (£200 - £300) HQ at Lewes until November 1883 whence it moved to Eastbourne. |
| 25     34th Foot (Cumberland) Officers shoulder belt plate circa 1830-45. A fine and scarce example. Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with a cut silver star; mounted on the star, a gilt crowned Maltese cross superimposed on a laurel wreath; lions between the arms of the cross which bear the honours of the regiment. To the centre, within a circlet inscribed Cumberland Regt, silver 34 on a silver ground. Reverse retains original fixings, comprising two hooks at the top and two studs at the bottom. `minor service wear, generally VGC (£400 - £500) The 34th was the only regiment that held the honour Arroyo dos Molinos which was granted on 30th May 1845 and placed on the shoulder belt plates beneath the cross. The 34th served in North America from 1830 to 1840 and was despatched on horse sleighs across heavy snows from New Brunswick to quell disturbances in Lower Canada in the winter of 1838. After North America, the 34th saw service in the Ionian Isles, the West Indies, The Crimea and during the Mutiny in India. Became 1st Battalion Border Regt. on Friday 1st July 1881 |

Within the wreath, a pierced circlet inscribed Kings Own Scottish Borderers. On the centre of the cross, Edinburgh Castle. Below the circlet, a tri-part pierced scroll inscribed Nisi dominus frustra. Silver laurel wreath surmounted by a separate Crown. Laurel wreath bearing honour scrolls Bhurtpore Aliwal Sobraon Tirah Punjab Frontier Afghanistan 1878-80. To the centre, silver crossed kukris surmounted by GRI cypher; below the kukris a strung bugle surmounted by the numeral 1. Below the wreath a scroll inscribed King Georges Own Own Gurkha Rifles. All mounted on a seeded backplate. Four screw posts to reverse. | 125     Royal Artillery Drivers ORs Tarleton helmet plate circa 1812-16. A very fine and exceedingly rare die-stamped brass example as worn at the Battle of Waterloo. Within a crowned circular roped edge strap, three cannons in pale. Lead strengthening repairs to reverse with old replacement fixing wires and single loop; cross surmounting orb an old replacement; obverse VGC. (£300 - £500) Through the centuries, field guns were moved by civilians teams however this was most unsatisfactory and caused great delays. In 1794 the Corps of Captains Commissaries and Drivers was formed to provide drivers and teams for the field guns. Redesignated Corps of Gunner Drivers in 1801 and reorganised however it still proved unsatisfactory so in 1806 the Royal Artillery Drivers were formed; this unit served throughout the Peninsula and notably at Waterloo. In 1822 the unit was disbanded. |

| 230     Queens Royal Volunteers Georgian shoulder belt plate. A very fine and scarce die-stamped brass example. Oval plate bearing crowned strap inscribed Royal Volunteers; to the centre Queens. Reverse retains original fixings, comprising single hook at the top and two studs at the bottom. VGC (£300 - £400) Queens Royal Volunteers were a strong double battalion unit appearing under Middlesex in both 1804 and 1807 lists. First commission to the unit dated 9th August 1803. Both battalions commanded by Lord Hobart who succeeded to the title 4th Earl of Buckinghamshire in 1804.
