The engine turned comb case by JWB hallmarked Birmingham 1947 bears diagonal stripe of coloured enamels and applied Arms of Jaipur as worn by the State Forces. | 663     108th (Madras Infantry) Regiment Officers Mess china plate circa 1873-81. This fine quality 9 inch example was produced by the Minton Factory and retailed through Pellatt & Wood, 25, Baker St. London W. Rich deep blue border with gilt floral outer edge and inside narrow gilt line. To the centre is a regimental device, surmounted by an Imperial Crown. The reverse with a Minton factory mark. Minor wear, generally GC. (£100 - £120) The Minton stamp would indicate that this plate was made between 1873 and 1891. 108th became 2nd Bn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on Friday 1st July, 1881 whilst under the command of Lt.Col. Henry Lock (Hon. Major General). |

This fine quality 9 inch example was produced by the Worcester Factory and retailed through Phillips Ltd Mount St. London. Rich deep blue border with gilt floral inner band edged with narrow gilt line. To the centre is a regimental device, a red rose of Lancaster and to the border a title strap surrounds 84 and above a coronet. The reverse with a Worcester factory and retailers mark Minor wear, generally GC. (£100 - £120) The Worcester stamp would indicate that this plate was made circa 1896. |

| 670     Winston Churchill Cigar Tribute to HMS Ajax Battle of the River Plate. A rare Churchill cigar box and last remaining cigar belonging to Warrant Officer Reginald Biggs DSC Gunnery Officer on board HMS Ajax during the historic action against the Battleship Admiral Graf Spee. Comprising: Polished camphor wood box, the lid is impressed Churchill and to the front is a dramatic picture of Sir Winston holding a Tommy Gun and smoking a cigar and Churchill Special. The reverse retains the originally paper label of Hunter & Co. Light of Persia Cigar House Tricainopoly Madras The box is accompanied by a last remaining sealed cigar, bearing pictorial cigar band of Churchill and Tommy Gun. GC. A letter of provenance for Warrant Officer Biggs accompanies the lot. (£150 - £200) The Churchill Specials were especially commissioned for the British Prime Minister. Following the return of HMS Ajax and Exeter in February 1940 the Officers and crew were invited to a Heroes Banquet at the Guild Hall London. The guest of honour was Sir Winston Churchill, who had instructed that each table would have a plentiful supply of Churchill Specials. At the end of the meal Warrant Officer Biggs liberated one box. In the post war years it became his personal tribute to smoke one cigar on the anniversary of the Battle of the River Plate. A letter of authenticity dated 2003 accompanies the lot, plus photocopy newspaper cuttings appertaining to Warrant Officer Biggs. |

To scrolls announce Coronation Day June 26th 1902. The base is printed Rowntree & Co Ltd York. The interior retains original chocolate bars and small coloured pictures of the King and Queen. | 674     Earl Kitchener and West Indies Regiment WWI commemorative tins. The tin is brightly decorated with colour transfers, depicting the Earl to the lid, set against the Union flag. To the sides Cavalry charge forward into battle with swords in the air, a portrait of Field Marshal Sir John French, Battleships on the high seas, a portrait of Admiral Sir Jon Jellicoe, Nurses attending wounded and Boy Scouts at the Ready.
