859     Dorset (Wareham) Home Guard Battledress Blouse.
A good example of the 1940 pattern Battledress blouse worn by an RSM. Retaining original insignia comprising: Printed Home Guard Shoulder Title, Designation “DOR 7” and to each cuff a Royal Coat of Arms rank badge. To the left breast are medal ribbons of 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal and GVR Jubilee Medal. Above this is evidence of a badge removed, possibly RAF pilots wings. Little service wear. GC. (£75 - £100)
860     Leinster Regiment Transitional 1880 pattern Scarlet Tunic.
A scarce example worn by a Major of the Regiment. Scarlet melton cloth with dark blue facings to the collar and cuffs, the latter with two inverted gold bullion chevrons of shamrock pattern lace. The rounded collar again with shamrock lace and collar badges. Complete with gilt regimental buttons, bullion shoulder cords with Victorian rank crowns. The interior with silk lining and tailor’s details of “Phelps & Coy”. Scarlet remains bright, little age wear. GC (£100 - £150)
861     1st Royal Surrey Militia 1868 pattern Officer’s uniform.
A scarce example in scarlet melton cloth with dark blue facings to the cuff and collar. The collar is ornamented with silver lace and bears a single rank star denoting Lieutenant; the cuffs also with silver lace; silver shoulder cords (buttons absent). Complete with eight silvered buttons of regimental design to the front (to reverse, both skirt buttons no longer present). Quilted silk lining. Scarlet remains fresh. VGC Complete with dark blue overalls with narrow scarlet line to seam. (2 items) (£250 - £300)
862     Victorian Life Guards Officer’s mess Jacket.
A rare example of the stable pattern, scarlet cloth with dark blue velvet facings to the cuffs and collar. The plaited shoulder cords are now absent. The jacket is edged with gold lace of oak leaf and acorn design and blue line. The interior is with quilted silk lining and soft brown leather edging. Scarlet remains fresh, slight age wear (£100 - £120)
863     4th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry Officer’s tunic.
A scarce light weight scarlet example, conforming to the 1856 pattern, with blue facings to the collar and cuffs. Each is decorated with lace. Complete with gilt metal regimental buttons of the pattern introduced in 1833. These are embossed with battle honour, the Elephant and title IV Regt. To the interior the upper section of the lining has been removed. Also bears a part ink name “C.T. Hark....”. The scarlet and bullion lace have dulled, tear to upper left breast, shoulder cord removed and stitching faults to the back. Remains a good display item. (£250 - £300)
The tunic is attributed to Lieutenant Colonel Charles Thomas Harkness. First appointed in 1842, he was serving as a Captain in 1856; he transferred in 1869 to become Second In Command of the 7th Madras Native Infantry.
864     25th Bengal Native Infantry Officer’s coatee circa 1830.
A good and rare scarlet melton cloth example with yellow facings to the collar and cuffs, the tails are with white facings. To the front, a double row of ten silvered regimental buttons (2 absent). The button design is flat, with 25 to the centre, within a ring and wreath. To the cuffs, four loops of bullion lace each mounted with a regimental button (3 absent). The collar is with a double loop of silver lace. The shoulders are with eyes for epaulette lace attachments. The back has two regimental buttons to the crown of the tails and tailored with false bullion pocket flaps, again mounted with eight Regimental buttons. Retaining tail ornaments of the Garter Star with 25 to the centre, against a yellow ground. Silk lining now shot. Scarlet remains bright, little age wear GC. (34 buttons present) (£600 - £700)
The coatee is believed to date from 1829 to 1831 and has undergone some retailoring during it’s working life, buttons moved to accommodate a person with a larger chest. This may indicate that the coatee was purchased by a fellow Officer, following the retirement or death of the original Officer and the coatee sold within the Regiment.
865     King Edwards Horse Bandsman’s Tunic.
A rare example of khaki cloth with scarlet mohair lace to the cuff and collar. The latter retaining regimental collar badges; complete with brass buttons. Scarlet shoulder cords, the left with aiguillettes, terminating with metal tangs. The interior retains a paper issue label. Overall GC slight moth. (£150 - £200)
866     Grenadier Guards Officer’s scarlet tunic.
A fresh Elizabeth II period example. Scarlet melton cloth with blue facings to the cuff, collar and epaulettes. Each cuff is with false cuffs bearing four rows of gold bullion lace each with a regimental button. The cuffs also with two bullion lines. The collar is with bullion lace and silver bullion flaming grenade devices, the shoulder straps edged with gold bullion. Complete with post 1953 regimental pattern buttons. Quilted cotton lining Scarlet and bullion fresh. VGC. Rank insignia loose. (£150 - £200)
867     Grenadier Guards post 1953 Guardsman’s scarlet Uniform.
A good example with dark blue facings to the cuffs, collar and epaulettes. The epaulettes are with white cotton embroidered devices. The collar with flaming grenade embroidery. Complete with all anodised buttons and lining to the interior ... Accompanied by dark blue overalls with scarlet line. Scarlet fresh, minor service wear. VGC (2 items) (£60 - £100)
868     Grenadier Guards Officer’s Mess Uniform.
Comprising: Jacket of scarlet melton cloth with dark blue facings to the cuff and collar. The latter mounted with bullion flaming grenade Regimental devices. The cuff is decorated with regimental pattern bullion cord. The interior is with a quilted lining ... Waistcoat of blue cloth mounted with gilt Regimental buttons. (Some minor stitching faults) ... Overalls with scarlet line. Overall GC, scarlet fresh. .... This Mess uniform is accompanied by Two Grenadier Guards pattern Officer’s Patrol tunics, complete with anodised buttons. Only one shoulder board present. (5 items) (£60 - £100)
869     Newcastle & Northumberland Yeomanry Cavalry Original Pattern Coatee.
An extremely rare example of the 1st pattern short tail coatee introduced on formation of the Regiment in December 1819. Dark blue cloth, with light blue facings to the stand collar, cuffs, short tail turn backs and edging. To the front a double row of eight silvered buttons, with further buttons to the tails, and cuffs, 28 buttons present The coatee retains the original silvered shoulder scales, these with blue backing matching the coatee facings and fitted with a Regimental button. Complete with quilted silk lining to the interior. The overall condition is near VGC, lining to the collar and tails partly shot one small area of moth to back of right cuff. (£750 - £1,000)
The Newcastle & Northumberland Yeomanry Cavalry, later Northumberland Hussars was raised in 1891 under the Command of Lt Col Charles John Brandling. The Regimental history states that during the Miners Strike of 1831 they were called out , and an account describes the coatee as dark blue facings and overalls of light blue. It goes on to say “in time the uniform was changed to dark blue with white and silver facings”. The book also illustrates a mounted Officer wearing this pattern and is described as wearing the Original uniform.
870     Tower Hamlets Militia Officer’s coatee.
A rare example of scarlet metal cloth, with dark blue facings to the collar and cuffs. The collar is richly embroidered with silver oak leaf and acorn and sports four silvered buttons. To the front can be found two rows of ten buttons arranged in pairs (one absent). The button depicts the White Tower, surmounted with a strung bugle, within a crowned Garter. The cuffs with a further four rows of oak leaf and acorn embroidery mounted with buttons. The tails with white turn backs. Original tail ornaments removed, replaced with later flaming grenade devices. The interior with cotton lining. (32 buttons present) A little age wear GC. (£250 - £300)
871     Household Cavalry State Musicians tunic
A magnificent example of rich crimson velvet with attached wings. Heavily embellished with one inch gold bullion lace decoration. Concealed hook and eye fastening to front with St. Edward’s crowned EIIR cypher, which is repeated to the back. The interior is with woollen lining. Colours and bullion remain fresh, with minor service wear Near VGC. (£500 - £750)
This pattern of tunic is worn by State trumpeters and musicians on state occasions in the presence of the Royal Family.
872     A Similar Household Cavalry State Musicians tunic
A magnificent example of rich crimson velvet with attached wings. Heavily embellished with one inch gold bullion lace decoration. Concealed hook and eye fastening to front with St. Edward’s crowned EIIR cypher, which is repeated to the back. The interior is with woollen lining. Colours and bullion remain fresh, with minor service wear Near VGC. Small tear to left armpit. (£500 - £750)

877     Boer War WWI. Small quantity of equipment
Comprising: Boer War Slade Wallace waist belt. Fitted with a replacement clasp ... 1870 Oliver style waterbottle. This example possibly Portuguese military issue. Contained in a black leather carrying harness, correct for light infantry issue ... Private purchase waterproof side bag, possibly WW1 period. .. canvas private purchase backpack. 878     WW2 Child’s Mickey Mouse pattern Gas Mask
A 1941 dated example. Red rubberised material with two eye holes. Retaining original blue elasticated straps and blue filter. Mask has date marks for June 1941 and is contained in its original cardboard box. Gas mask is in clean and supple condition. (£30 - £40)
879     WW2 Child’s Mickey Mouse pattern Black Gas Mask
A rare 1942 dated Black example. Black rubberised material with two eye holes. Retaining original blue elasticated straps and blue filter. Mask has date marks for November 1942 and is contained in its original cardboard box. Gas mask is in clean and supple condition. A little age wear (£50 - £100)
880     WW1 Soldiers Dominoes etc.
These items were used by Private William Edward Coacher, who’s Memorial Plaque can be found in the medal section. Comprising: A set of flat miniature dominoes, contained in a waterproof case ... 1916 military issue binoculars. Complete with leather case ... Issue pattern saw, in black leather case ... A New Testament, with pencil dedication “Somewhere in France 1916”. Overall GC Binoculars optics clean. (£50 - £100)
881     Rare Early 19th Century Yeomanry Cavalry Other Rank’s wooden Water bottle.
This is a rare early example of the pattern of wooden bottle, carried during the Napoleonic Wars and the Battle of Waterloo. Retaining, 95% of the blue painted finish and to one side in faint period paint can be seen “G (or C) YC” Remains in good sound condition. (£120 - £180)
This example does have a Board of Ordnance date stamp indicating an early issue of the bottle.
882     WW1 Pattern British Army Kit Bag.
A scarce example of black canvas cloth with brass eyelets. To the front original stencilled name “S/72599 Townsend F.P”. Some age wear GC. (£30 - £60)
