| 865     Third Reich. War Order of the German Cross in gold. A fine and scarce example. Eight pointed silver star with slightly smaller dark overlay. Mounted on the star, set on a red enamel ground, a gilt laurel wreath with 1941 at the base. Within the wreath, a silvered edged black enamel swastika set on a matt silver ground. Front secured to reverse with four open rivets, complete with vertical tapered pin. No maker mark but has the charictaristics of a Klein of Hanau (134) example. VGC (£600 - £800) Instituted by Adolf Hitler for the Wehrmacht on 29th September 1941 and designed by Professor Klien of Munich. |

| 884     Imperial German M1917 pattern camouflage steel helmet. The helmet retains original steel band lining and two leather pads. The shell is with clear camouflaged painted finish. Verdigris to 11 oclock eagle. GC (£200 - £250) Instituted 14th April 1939 by Hitler to reward those members of the Wehrmacht who served with distinction in the Spanish Civil War in support of General Franco. |

| 893     German. Kriegsmarine Officers dagger by Eickhorn. A good example, the blade etched with fouled anchor on both sides and bearing makers squirrel logo. Gilded brass mounts with twist wire bound simulated ivory grip; eagle and swastika pommel. Housed in its gilt metal scabbard with lightening bolt designs and retaining both loose suspension rings. Twist wire bound orange grip, plated aluminium mounts, the crossguard and langet (a little loose) bearing an eagle and swastika; double edged polished blade bearing SMF logo and DRGM on one side, the other with R in a circle and Betonwerk Richter, Nürnberg. A good example, the blade bears etched panel bearing the inscription Fur Erinnerung an Meine Diengtzeit ornamented with oakleaves, crossed rifles, steel helmet etc and eagle and swastika. Hoisting rope stitched through the stem which has ink stampings Fl. d. Oberbefehish. d. M. 100 x 100 with red stamped eagle and swastika over M. Numerous moth holes. White simulated ivory wire bound grip, lions head pommel with flowing mane, floral ornamented knuckle bow, folding guard bearing fouled anchor. Folding securing plate and top mount of brass bound leather scabbard bear O. 2355. Plated plain blade. Top mount of scabbard engraved To Captain E.R. Conder RN from Colonel A. Grudsinski, Wilhelmshaven 6. May 1945. Age patination overall, scuffs to scabbard leather. GC ... together with a German Naval Officers black silk belt, the gilded alloy buckle dated 1940. (belt AF) ... Vagabunden auf See. 1940-41 by Weher and Ehrlich (1951) with decication To my friend Ré from Kurt Weher (Admiral of German Navy at Wilhelmshaven) ... With the Tanks of the 1st Polish Armoured Division (1946) inscribed To Captain E.R. Conder, DSO, DSC, RN as a token of great friendship and in memory of our combined entry into Wilhelshaven, Germanys greatest naval base on 6th of May 1945. Colonel A Grudzinski, Comd 10 polish Armd Bde, 9th April 1947, BAOR (£300 - £500) It is believed that Captain Edward Reignier Conder DSO, DSC, RN. and Colonel Grudsinski accepted the surrender of this great naval base. |

Gefreiter Rudi Schleicher, 21st Infantry Division was killed in action 23rd July 1943 near Mustolova, Russia. Items include his Iron Cross 2nd class posthumous award document signed by Oberst von Mellenthin (Knights Cross & Oakleaves) ... his Wehrpass, cover and letter from a Captain to his father enclosing the Wehrpass. Gefreiter Georg Gebhardy, Panzer-Jager Abteilung 643 was killed in action 19th July 1941. Items include his Wehrpass, newspaper obituary and 1943 Grossdeutschland official death scroll of honour (Grossdeutschland absorbed his unit in March 1942).
