| 952     RAF Air Vice Marshal Service Dress and Mess Kit Uniforms. These uniforms were worn by Air Vice Marshal E.S. Butler CB, OBE. Comprising: Four pocket service dress, to the left breast padded Kings Crown pilot wings and medal ribbons of CB, OBE, 1939/45 Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, MID 1953 Coronation Medal, Iraq Active Service Medal. Complete with Elizabeth II RAF buttons. The interior with tailors label of Gieves and typed name E.S. Butler 5/60.. Complete with overalls ... Accompanied by Mess jacket with gold lace rank to the cuffs and miniature bullion Pilots Wings.... This accompanied by waistcoat. | 953     Fleet Air Arm DSC Pilots Uniform. A scarce example worn by Captain L.E.D. Walthall OBE DSC. The reefer jacket with gold Captain rank lace and to the left sleeve a post 1953 Pilots Wings. To the left breast medal ribbons: OBE, DSC, 1939/45 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, Rosette, Defence Medal, War Medal, 1953 Coronation Medal. The interior with tailors label for Gieves and typed name L.E.D. Wathall 20.1.55 ... Complete with overalls GC. (2 items) (£50 - £100) Captain Leigh Edward Delves Walthall joined the Royal Navy as a cadet at Dartmouth in 1927, he qualified as a pilot at RAF Leuchars in 1936 and at the outbreak of the war was serving with 826 naval squadron, flying Swordfish aircraft under RAF Coastal Command and flew operations in support of the Dunkirk evacuation. In 1941 he flew on ops in the Arctic, before a period as a flying instructor. Returning to ops he flew with 812 naval squadron on the attacks of the 31 July, on Kirkenes and Petsamo these raids from the Carriers Furious and Victorious. He was later appointed senior naval Officer of the Naval Aircraft Centre at Roosevelt Field, Long Island, where newly-formed Fleet Air Arm squadrons trained to fly their US aircraft. He ended the war in the battleship King George V. He died in 1996 |

Each signature is completed by a biography and photograph, many in flying clothing next to their aircraft. The collection was issued by The Douglas Bader Foundation to mark the 40 anniversary of the Battle of Britain and was limited to only 2,000 sets for world wide distribution.
