979     Crimea War Period General Officer’s Bullion Sword Knot
A scarce example of the pre 1855 pattern. Gold lace with three crimson silk lines and these lines can also be found to the flat knot, which supports fine bullion twist tassels. Bullion remains fresh, little age wear. (£30 - £50)
980     WW1 Period Highland Light Infantry Officer’s sword by Wilkinson.
A scarce example of the Scottish Highland 1831 pattern sword. The straight doubled edged blade with central fuller is etched with a GVR Cypher panels of thistles, regimental title and crest. To the forte the Wilkinson’s logo and crest. Blade is unnumbered. Full nickel plated basket guard with pierced heart panel design enclosing a shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Retaining full buff leather and scarlet faced lining. Housed in field service leather scabbard. The blade remains in very good condition, etching clear, the basket with a little storage wear, plating dulled ... Accompanied by an alternative cross guard. (£400 - £600)
981     Continental 1821 Style Light Cavalry Troopers Sword.
A good example with a slightly curved single edge blade with wide fuller. The hilt is with three open bar guard of the light cavalry style. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. The back strap to the grip with ears. Complete with a steel scabbard fitted with a single loose ring. This stamped “AE”. Overall GC. (£150 - £250)
982     Royal Artillery Edward VIII Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson.
A rare example made by the world famous Wilkinson Sword Company of London during the short reign of King Edward VIII. The blade with etched decoration including a EVIIIR Cypher, Regimental title and flora. The forte with the Wilkinson logo and the blade is numbered 66170. The hilt is of the regulation pattern three bar open guard with shagreen grip, this with twist wire binding. Complete with leather field service scabbard and gold bullion sword knot. GC Etching VGC. A good mid 19th Century example. The blade is with foul anchor device and a Royal Coat of Arms Solid gilt guard with fouled anchor device, lion head pommel and white shagreen grip with twist wire binding. The folding panel to the guard engraved with a Baron Crown over “A” Complete with black leather scabbard with gilt metal mounts the top mount fitted with two loose rings and a further loose ring to the middle mount. The top mount also with a retailers tablet of Selby High St Portsmouth. Fitted with bullion sword knot. GC Blade clean gilt bright. (£400 - £600)
986     1796 Light Cavalry pattern Officer’s Sword.
This example with a single edged curved blade with engraved decoration depicting a Crowned GR Cypher, Stand of Arms and a mounted cavalry Officer with sword. The steel hilt with single guard and replacement leather to the grip. Accompanied by a polished steel scabbard, this retaining both fittings for the loose rings (Rings absent). Engraving to the blade is clear, overall dark patina. (£350 - £400)
987     Household Cavalry Trooper’s state sword.
A good quality George VI example Singled edged blade, slightly curved. The blade is with issue stamps for April 1947. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. The open guard is with a King’s Crown Cypher. Complete with original polished steel scabbard. GC Clean condition. (£250 - £300)
988     Napoleonic Period Royal Navy Officer’s Attributed Sword
This example with a curved single edged blade, with etched decoration. Depicting a foul anchor, floral sprays and a scroll bearing the name “William Bodill Esq”. The hilt resembles the 1805 pattern with gilt metal single guard. The langets engraved with foul anchors, Lion head pommel and black shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Accompanied by a modern replacement leather and gilt metal mounted scabbard, with two loose rings. The sword has been professionally restored to exhibition standard. GC (£300 - £500)

The hilt with steel full honeysuckle guard, Shagreen grip handle with twist wire binding. Complete with a polished steel scabbard fitted with two loose rings. Blade in clean condition, etching clear. 990     1803 Infantry Pattern Officer’s sword.
A good example. The single edged curved blade is with engraved decoration of a crowned GR cypher, with a trophy of Arms. The hilt is of fire gilt with lion head pommel, leather grip with copper twist wire binding, a crowned GR cypher is incorporated within the guard. Complete with original black leather a gilt metal mounted scabbard, with two loose rings and frog button. The top mount is engraved with double headed Eagle and Motto “Forward”. Gilt is dulled, blade has been polished and is in clean condition engraving clear. (£400 - £600)

A good example by Wilkinson London. With straight saw backed blade; heavy ribbed brass grip with stirrup guard. Housed in brass mounted black leather scabbard, the top mount with frog button. 1001     Life Guards 1908 pattern Cavalry Trooper’s sword
A good nickel plated example. The blade bears the issue date of January 1916 and is also stamped “LG 8” plus various inspection marks. Solid guard and chequered grip. Housed in original steel scabbard. Overall very clean ... The sword is accompanied by a polished leather horse shoe case and leather attachment frog. (£150 - £250)

1003     Irish Guards Officer’s sword by Wilkinson.
A very good Elizabeth II example by Wilkinson Sword and numbered 7691. The blade is etched with the Crowned regimental device of the Order of St Patrick and decorated with a EIIR Crowned cypher. The regimental device can also be found in the open guard of the hilt. The shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in original nickel scabbard and complemented with a correct pattern buff leather and bullion sword knot. Near Parade Condition. (£250 - £300)
1004     Great War Coldstream Guards attributed Officer’s sword.
A good example retailed through Bateson of London. The blade bears decoration of a Crowned Cypher GVR, Battle Honours of the Regiment including South Africa. The blade also bears an etched panel “R.S. Maitland Edwards” The open guard is mounted with a silver and enamel the Order of the Garter Regimental Officer’s cap badge. The shagreen grip, with twist wire binding. Complete with a polished steel scabbard. and correct pattern white buff leather and bullion sword knot. VGC. (£300 - £400)
The sword was carried by Lieutenant R.S. Maitland-Edwards was serving as a Lieutenant of the 5th Battalion at the end of the Great War.
1005     Scots Guards Officer’s sword.
A good George V Period example by Henry Wilkinson of London blade number 62396. This sword was carried by Col. J.S.Sanderson O.B.E., DSO of the 1st Battalion. The blade bears etched decoration of a Crowned GVR cypher and Battle Honours of the Regiment the last being France & Flanders 1914-18. Above each Honour is the Device of the various Company Colours. The blade etched with initials J.S.S. The guard incorporates the Regimental device of the Order of the Thistle. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with original polished brown leather field service scabbard. Good clean condition. GC. (£350 - £400)
This sword was carried by Col. J.S.Sanderson O.B.E., DSO. Commissioned 1930, Captain 1938. 1945 he is shown as a Temporary Lt Col substantiated 1949. Temporary Col 1951. He saw service in Norway, Europe, Italy,Palestine and Malaya. while in Command of the 1st Battalion in Malaya he was awarded the DSO.

1007     Huddersfield Rifles (Duke of Wellington’s Regiment) Light Infantry pattern Officer’s sword.
A rare example, the blade is etched with a Crowned entwined VR cypher and a strung bugle device, with title Huddersfield Rifles Also with the retailer’s details of Herbert & Co of London. The guard is again with a strung bugle device. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. The etching to the blade is clear, hilt has been polished. Now fitted into a replacement scabbard of the 1822 pattern sword. Black leather with gilt mounts. The top mount with the addition of a frog button. (£200 - £300)

This example with a 22 inch straight single edged flat blade. Stamped to both side with an armourer’s mark of a crescent and three stars. The brass mounted hilt with single bar guard and a shell guard. This with embossed decoration depicting a hunter. The guard is also decorated with figures. Retaining original stag horn grip. Scabbard absent. Overall GC brass polished. blade with heavy pitting. (£120 - £150)
1009     18th Century Hunting Hanger Sidearm possibly American War of Independence Period.
This steel mounted example has a 1 1/2 wide blade at the forte and a length of 21 inches. Straight single edged. The hilt with a plain steel single bar knuckle guard and cross guard. Retaining original staghorn grip. Scabbard absent. Heavy pitting to steel. (£100 - £150)
1010     Royal Navy Crimea War Period Officer’s Sword.
This example with a piped back blade with etched decoration of a Crowned Fouled Anchor. Also with the cutlers name of Dudley Portsmouth. The hilt of the regulation pattern, lion head pommel and shagreen grip this with wire binding. The gilt to the hilt remains bright, blade with staining and some surface pitting. Scabbard absent. The vendor has attributed the sword to Captain J. Moorsom, who wounded in the batteries before Sebastapol.

1012     WW2 Japanese Officer’s sword captured by L/Cpl. Rogers MM, Royal Sussex Regiment
A good WW2 example with 29 1/2 inch blade (unsigned) with brass military mounts and tsuba. Housed in it’s original leather covered wooden field service scabbard. The grip has had the sharkskin replaced, during the war, with khaki linen. Scabbard top mount and catch assembly absent. Overall length without scabbard 40 inches. (£300 - £400)

1013     Grenadier Guards Officer’s sword by Wilkinson
A scarce example of regimental pattern by Wilkinson. The blade, numbered 67319, is etched with the Grenadier Guards flaming grenade device surmounted by crown and with battle honours. Reverse has GVIR crowned cypher and further battle honours. The open guard incorporating the device of the Grenadier Guards. Complete with polished brown leather field service scabbard. Staining spots to the blade. GC. (£250 - £300)
1014     1796 Light Cavalry Trooper’s Sword
Wide curved single edged blade with large central fuller. The hilt with D shaped steel knuckle guard guard and with rounded langets. Complete with steel scabbard with two loose rings. This example with pitting to the scabbard and hilt, which has been painted black. Blade remains in good condition and appears to have been sharpened during its working life. 1015     Late Georgian / early Victorian Officer’s stiletto.
A fine example with 6 inch hollow ground cruciform blade, steel crossguard with flattened elliptical quillons, white metal ribbed design ferrule. Carved horn grip with ribbed side stripes leading to twisted fluted ball pommel. Housed in its shaped sheath which conforms to the cruciform shape of the blade. Complete with slightly later tailor made brown leather belt frog. Generally VGC. (£200 - £300)

A good example with brass Parkerised grip with chequered design. Double edged spear point blade, with straight oval crossguard. This with a WD Arrow. Housed in original dark brown leather scabbard with Parkerised chape, retaining four leather tangs and complete with an elasticated retaining strap. Little age wear GC. ... A good clean example with turn off 5 3/4 inch 22 bore cannon barrel. Side mounted frame lock with L shaped frizzen spring and engraved with the maker’s details. Steel trigger guard with stylised flame finial and sunburst engraving. Bag shaped grip with foliage carving to edge, silver foliage side plate and lion’s mask butt cap. Oval floral escutcheon. A good and scarce example. The plain smooth 16 bore barrel, with proof and acceptance stamps. Steel swivel ramrod. The flat lock plate marked Tower and also bearing a Crowned GR Cypher. Ringed neck cock and waterproof pan. Plain walnut full stocked woodwork, with brass furniture comprising:, fore-end, trigger guard, side plate and heavy stepped butt cap. Good condition. 1028     Early 19th century Officer’s Flintlock Pistol.
A fine example with a browned octagonal 9 1/4 inch 32 bore barrel with rear V sight and blade foresight. The top flat engraved “London”, the rear tang with sunburst engraving. The stepped lockplate with half cock safety and engraved with maker’s details of Holmes. Roller ball frizzen spring and waterproof pan. Swan neck cock with rear turnback. Full stock woodwork with chequered grip, steel furniture with double ramrod pipe, trigger guard with pineapple finial and shield engraving, octagonal silvered escutcheon. A clean example with 4 inch browned Damascus smooth bore octagonal barrel, 20 bore. Full under-rib with steel swivel ramrod. Steel body frame with side mounted percussion dolphin pattern hammer; body and frame with stylised floral engraving. Blued steel belt hook to left side, chequered bag shape grip with steel opening patch box to the butt. Silvered oval escutcheon. Retains most original finish, clean condition. (£300 - £400)

A fine double barrelled example with 34 inch 14 bore side by side browned Damascus barrels with full top rib and two lower ramrod pipes. Side mounted lock plates with dolphin head hammers both profusely engraved with floral scrolling designs. Half stocked woodwork with chequered wrist leading to a stag’s head mask; side cheek piece carved with leaf design; steel furniture with butt plate and trigger guard both with scroll and floral engraving. Original wooden ramrod. Housed in its fitted oak case with brass corners and locks; original green baize lining. Complete with leather covered bag shaped powder flask, steel pincer bullet mould, steel wad punch and two wooden handled brass bodied adjustable powder measures. (£600 - £800)

A double barrelled example with 30 inch 20 bore side by side heavy twist Damascus barrels with full top rib and two lower ramrod pipes. Side mounted lock plates with dolphin head hammers both engraved with scroll and floral designs. Half stocked figured walnut stock with chequered wrist and fore-end; steel furniture with butt plate and trigger guard both with scroll and floral engraving. Original wooden ramrod with steel end worm. Housed in its fitted wooden case, originally leather covered; original green baize lining. A good 13 1/2 inch steel barrelled example. Heavy steel flared barrel with proof marks to rear, the tang with stylised floral engraving, flat lock plate engraved “H. Nock”. Swan neck cock. Full stock woodwork chequered at the wrist, brass furniture comprising two ramrod pipes, long eared butt plate and trigger guard with pineapple final and floral engraving. A French example, with 6 1/2 inch 25 bore brass stepped barrel. The rear half of the barrel engraved with a central sunburst and scrolling floral decoration. Steel barrel tang, brass lockplate this with line edge engraving and maker’s name of Carpter. Steel swan neck cock with line engraving. Full stocked woodwork with carved decoration. Continental silver furniture comprising: double ramrod pipe, solid side plate, with floral engraving, trigger guard, with urn finial and long eared stepped butt cap. Good clean condition. 1036     Queen Anne period cannon barrel pistol by Luke.
A good example with turn off 7 inch cannon barrel, bearing proof stamps to the underside. Boxlock action with central ring neck cock. Side plates with floral and scroll engraving and signed “Luke”. Steel trigger guard with a single flower engraving, slab sided bag shaped grips, profusely decorated with scrolling silver wire inlay. The pistol remains in good condition with some age wear, silver inlay sprung to parts, some small pitted areas to the steel. Overall length 12 inches (£300 - £400)

A scarce example with. 26 1/4 inch smooth 10 Bore barrel with London proof stamps. The lock with engraved Crown over GR and Tower. Complete with ring neck cock,. Full hand rail stock, with brass furniture, to include butt plate,, trigger guard, side plate, two ramrod pipes and end cap. Two steel swivel loops and complete with original steel ramrod. 1038     Waterloo Period Eliott flintlock Light Dragoons Carbine by Ketland
A good example with 28 1/4 inch smooth 13 Bore barrel with London proof stamps. The lock with ring neck cock, Crown over Ketland engraving. Full hand rail stock, with brass furniture, to include butt plate, (stamped 8), trigger guard, early style shaped side plate, three ramrod pipes and end cap. This with location bar to hold the special pattern steel ramrod into position. To the left hand side a hooked steel side bar, with swivel ring. Some pitting to the steel work, ramrod replaced with an old example. (£700 - £1,000)

A good example with 22 inch 14 bore barrel, fitted with unusual bayonet bar swivel ramrod. The round back stepped lock plate with line edge decoration, engraved with the name Kavanagh.
