932     WW2 Royal Air Force 1939 Irvin Flying Trousers.
A good clean early pair of the issue aircrew sheepskin flying trousers. Retaining brace straps and working brass zips. This example retaining original issue label dated 1939, also with ink name Gibbons. Good clean condition, but with stitching faults and zips could benefit from waxing. (£80 - £120)
933     WW2 Period American Model M4 A1 USAAF Flak Helmet
A good clean example, the steel shell with a green painted felt finish. Separate fitted hinged cup ears with a web chinstrap. Green webbing head harness, remains to the interior. Little age wear Good clean condition GC. (£80 - £120)
934     WW2 Fleet Air Arm Pilots Log Book.
This log was compiled by Lieutenant J.A.L. Carter. and starts on the 19th June 1943 with training on a Tiger Moth. Other aircraft flown include Seafire, Hellcat and Barracudas with 769 Squadron. No operational flying is record. Remaining in the FAA the log entries continue through to 1946. The log continues to record civilian flights, 50th Anniversary flight of the Schneider Trophy Race taken in Concord and the last entry is 2001. The log is supplemented with a number of aircraft first day covers, photographs etc. (£60 - £120)
935     WW2 1944 Fleet Air Arm Pilots Battledress Blouse.
A scarce Royal Navy issue blouse. To the left breast with bullion Fleet Air Arm Pilots Wings. The shoulder straps with RNVR rank Lace of a Lieutenant with embroidered A’s. Issue label 1944 Complete with gilt buttons. GC. (£60 - £120)

936     WW2 1944 Fleet Air Arm Pilots Uniform & Cap.
A good example worn by Lt J.A.L. Carter. Comprising: Officer’s service dress cap, with bullion RN Cap Badge. Complete with leather sweatband to the interior ... Reefer pattern tunic. To each cuff RNVR rank lace of a Lieutenant with embroidered A’s. The left cuff with the addition of a pair of bullion Pilots Wings. To the left breast medal ribbons of the War and Defence Medal, also full size medals. The interior with tailor’s label and typed name “J.A.L. Carter Dec 44” ... 937     WW2 Pattern Royal Air Force Officer’s Cap.
A good example of the regulation pattern service dress cap with King’s Crown bullion Cap Badge. The interior with leather sweatband and size label 7 1/8. Remains in near VGC. This is the WW2 pattern, but probably dates from the 1950’s (£40 - £60)
938     WW1 Royal Flying Corps Photograph of a Sopwith Dolphin Fighter Aircraft.
This large photograph is taken from the front giving a good view of the biplane fighter. Roundel and large white Y to the fuselage. GC Image clear now mounted into contemporary glazed giltwood frame. Image size 11 x 6 1/2 inches Frame size 20 15 inches. (£30 - £50)
939     WW2 Fleet Air Arm 1st Pattern Navy C Type Flying Helmet
A good clean large side example, Tailored with six studs for oxygen mask fitting, leather chin strap and with Crowned Anchor stamp. Little age wear GC. (£80 - £120)
940     WW2 Royal Air Force B Type Flying Helmet.
A good example with zip ear cups and rubber receivers for earphones. Overall Good Condition leather supple. Some age wear to the interior, back strap absent. (£80 - £120)

942     RAF 1941 pattern Aircrew Mae West.
This example of the regulation pattern retains label (medium size) and all the web ties. The exterior with a little service wear, remains in good clean condition. (£150 - £200)
943     RAF 1941 pattern flying gauntlets.
A scarce pair of the example with diagonal zips. This pair appear to have been worn as a pair although not a perfect colour match. Slight service wear GC. (£50 - £75)
944     RAF 1941 Mae West Bladder Yellow Cloth Example.
A scarce example made of yellow material with a test date of January 1942. Complete with inflation tube. GC (£50 - £100)

A good British made example retaining issue label Size 8 Height 5’7" to 5’ 8”. Clear date 1943. Tailored with shoulder eagles. Slight wear GC. One moth hole to the back. (£60 - £100)

947     WW2 Pattern British Glider Pilot Flying Helmet. Early Issue Example
A scarce early example, the fibre skull with brown painted finish and fitted with the lower section of the C Type Flying Helmet. The latter with clear Crowned AM Stamp and number 22c/945 The leather sweatband with size stamp 7 1/2. This example has no provision for an Oxygen mask and is an external wired style. Also no velvet patches to the lining at the chin. (£600 - £800)
948     WW2 1942 Royal Air Force Airman’s Service dress Tunic
A good example of the issue pattern tailored with shoulder eagles and complete with brass buttons. The interior with issue label Size 11 Height 5ft 9 to 5ft 10. Dated 1942. GC (£30 - £60)
949     WW2 British Red Cross POW Parcel Box
A rare example of the cardboard box despatched to British POW’s by the British Red Cross. Details are printed to the lid and remain clear. A little age and service wear GC. (£100 - £120)
950     Fleet Air Arm Pilot’s Ephemera.
A large and interesting quantity of material following the career of Commander Simon Borret. Includes a pre War 1930’s Pilot’s log book,... a late 1930’s unofficial log book ... Pilot’s Log Book 1950’s (Very few entries) ... Midshipman’s Ships log / Journal for HMS Malaya 1922 ... A similar log for 1927 ... Photograph album, 1930’s showing float planes, aircraft on carriers etc ... Secret Orders for a large Naval Exercise 1947 ... Plus a large amount of lecture notes etc. Overall GC. (£250 - £300)
Commander Simon Borret was Dartmouth Cadet in 1919, his Naval career started in the Early 1920’s and as a Lt on board HMS Vindictive was Court Marshalled following an incident with a Bomb Fuse explosion. He started Pilot Training in 1929. At the outbreak of the war he was commanding 811 Naval Squadron onboard the Aircraft Carrier HMS Courageous, which was sunk buy a German U-boat on the 17th September 1939. In 1940 he was posted as Commanding officer 815 Naval Squadron
951     1920’s Royal Air Force Pilots Log Book.
A scarce example, compiled in an RFC Army Book 425 log book by Percy Harold Davy CBE. The log begins on the 14th February 1922 and details his flying career in India with 31 Squadron and also as a Chief Test Pilot. until 30th April 1926. Good detail to log. GC some service wear (£80 - £120)
Percy Harold Davy CBE. was commissioned into the Yorkshire Light Infantry and transferred to the RFC and qualified as a pilot gaining Royal Aero Club certificate 3532. He was posted to France in December 1916 and was wounded in March 1917. After recovering from his wounds he was appointed a Flying Instructor and after the War remained with the RAF. He was later appointed Inspector of Accidents at the Air Ministry and for services to aviation was appointed a CBE.
