782     Warwickshire Yeomanry Officer’s Busby.
A fine fur example by Hawkes of London. White bag with three lines of silvered flat braid and bullion gimp pearl button. To the front a bullion silver cockade, and to the crown a white ostrich and vulture feather plume, this retaining silvered mount and ring. Three gimp silver bullion cords to the body of the busby. Retaining silvered gimp chin chain with velvet backing. To the interior, leather sweatband and crimson silk lining this with tailor’s gold embossed stamp of Hawkes London. Overall condition is good and clean. Contained in an associated metal storage tin, with later engraved brass name plate “J.B. Dugdale Esq Warwickshire Yeomanry”. (£600 - £800)
783     Scottish Rifles (Cameronians) Officer’s shako.
A good black cloth example. Across the front, a plaited mohair cord swag, the uppermost point at each side supported by a blackened thistle ornamented hook. To the front, a blackened silver strung bugle, surmounted by a cord boss mounted with a Mullet. Horizontal patent leather peak and chinstrap. Black horsehair plume with blackened silver boss. The interior retains leather sweatband and silk edging Overall near VGC ... Accompanied by cords ... and an associated metal storage tin (£400 - £600)
784     France. National Gendarmerie a Cheval 1913 pattern helmet.
A fine example by Franck & Ses Fils, Aubervilliers. Gilt metal skull with nickel silvers binding and with silvered helmet plate to the front depicting a flaming grenade. Mounted on the crown, a silvered metal comb ornamented with floral leaf decoration to either side. The front bears Medusa’s head looking forward, the comb supports bristle brush. To the left side, a silvered plume holder supports a red cut feather plume (possibly a replacement). A pair of lion’s head circular brass bosses support a set of leather backed silvered chin scales. The interior retains original cloth sweatband and adjustable leather lining formed by seven tongues. Horsehair mane to reverse absent oitherwise VGC. Housed in large black painted transit / storage tin. (£500 - £750)
785     7th Queen’s Own Hussars Officer’s Field Service Side Cap.
A scarce example by Hawkes & Co. 1 Savile Row, of scarlet cloth, the crown and curtain piped with bullion cord and complete with bullion regimental cypher badge. Complete with plain gilt buttons and silk lining bearing tailor’s label. Complete with narrow patent leather chinstrap. Slight fading but generally very good; one or two marks from patent chinstrap. 786     Mid 19th century General Officer’s cocked hat.
A scarce 8 inch high example of black beaver skin body, to the left side a black silk rosette with a double loop of gold bullion twist open cord secured with a single General’s crossed sword and baton gilt button. Ornamented with black lace of oak leaf and acorn design. At each end, bullion tassels, set onto crimson cushion. Deep leather sweatband and cream silk pleated lining retaining tailor’s details of Cater’s, 56 Pall Mall. Minor age wear, bullion slightly dulled, chinstrap detached one end. (£200 - £300)
787     Mid 19th century Officer’s cocked hat.
A scarce 8 inch example of black beaver skin body, to the left side a black silk rosette with a loop of gold bullion plaited cord secured with a single gilt button (crowned VR on lined ground). Ornamented with black lace of oak leaf and acorn design. At each end, bullion tassels with cushion. Deep leather sweatband and cream silk pleated lining retaining tailor’s details of Cater’s, 56 Pall Mall, London and initials “RKT”. Accompanied by a white feather plume. Some age wear, bullion slightly dulled, top edge on reverse side AF. (£100 - £200)
788     8th Gurkha Rifles WW2 Officer’s field service cap.
A good scarce dark green example with black piping to the crown. Blackened crossed kukris with “8” below mounted on cord boss. Curtain secured by two horn / composition buttons bearing crowned strung bugle. Black cotton lining. Some service wear and fading; one or two moth nips. (£80 - £120)

789     WW2 1943 leather harness Airborne Forces steel helmet.
A scarce example, the skull is painted with green finish, with the addition of a red square left side and “44” to the right. Complete with leather chin harness with leather chin cup. The interior with leather sweatband this with faint maker’s stamp and date of “C & S 1943” Size 7 1/4. The sweatband also bears various pencil names. GC. Rubber padded has been tarred to prevent deterioration. (£200 - £400)
790     3rd Bn Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Officer’s helmet & Scarlet Tunic.
A scare pair attributed to Captain J.T. Button of the 3rd Militia Battalion.
Comprising: A fine and scarce example of Officer's Home Service Pattern green cloth helmet, with full title scroll representing 1908 to 1914. The helmet is complete with gilt metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt metal eight pointed star, the topmost point displaced by a Crown, to the centre the regimental device of a strung bugle on a field of black enamel within the Garter. Below the Garter a silver scroll inscribed “The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Lt Infy”. The interior with a crimson cotton sweatband and tailor’s label of Hobson & Sons of London. Contained in original storage tin, retaining Hobson label and brass name plate engraved G.T. Button 3rd Oxford & Bucks The overall condition of this helmet is near VGC. One small moth hole to the peak ... Accompanied by 1880 pattern scarlet Officer’s tunic. This example of scarlet melton cloth, with white facings to the collar and cuffs. The bullion shoulder cords with Captain rank stars. The collar with regimental collar badge of a button and bullion line. Complete with gilt buttons and quilted lining. The left breast with provision for medals. Scarlet fresh, small surface moth traces. (2 items). (£500 - £700)
Captain G.T. Button, Commissioned into the Regiment on the 16th November 1912. The 1919 Army List shows him as attached to the 1st & 2nd Battalions as a Special Reserve Officer.
791     Volunteer Artillery Victorian Officer’s busby.
A good clean example of black fur, with plain scarlet bag. To the left side a silvered regimental pattern flaming grenade plume holder. The ball of the grenade is mounted with gun within a wreath. Complete with white horsehair plume. The interior with leather lining and and black cotton lining, this with gold tooled tailor’s details of Cross Morgan & Co Stone House GC, To the leather sweatband is an old paper label with ink details “B. M. Art G. Wright”. Complete with leather chin strap. Scarlet bright GC ... Contained in an associated metal storage tin with later painted name “G. Wright Northumberland Artill Vols” (£150 - £200)
792     United States National Guard Shako.
Black felt material with black leather crown and peak. To the front a gilt shako plate and a swag of white plated cord. Complete with white feather plume. The interior with leather sweatband and tailor’s label of “Ridabock & Co New York. Good clean condition, complete with metal storage tin. (£50 - £100)
793     Life Guards Trooper’s helmet.
A good post 1902 example. Nickel skull with brass and silvered King’s Crown helmet plate to front. To each side, a gilded rose head boss supports the leather backed chin chain. A silvered plume holder supports a white horsehair plume with button pattern boss. Complete with its original leather lining. Slight service and age wear GC. (£400 - £600)
794     4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards Trooper’s helmet.
A good 1871 example. Brass skull decorated with brass laurel leaves; to the front a white metal Garter Star with brass title strap and silvered “4” to the centre. Brass spike supports a white regimental pattern horsehair plume with rose boss. To each side are rose head bosses which support a brass leather-backed chin chain Leather lining to the interior. Minor service wear. GC (£400 - £600)
795     Grenadier Guards Officer’s cap by Herbert Johnson.
A good post 1953 example, black cloth, with a row of bullion to the simulated leather peak. Complete with bullion regimental cap badge and sweatband to the interior. Label indicates size 7 (57) VGC (£40 - £60)
796     Royal Dragoons Officer’s service dress cap.
A good khaki example by Herbert Johnson, 38 New Bond Street, London; to the front, a bronze eagle badge; to each side, a King’s Crown gilt metal button supports the brown leather chin strap. The interior retains leather sweatband. Minor service wear, generally VGC. (£50 - £75)
797     Somerset Light Infantry Great War Period Officer’s service dress cap.
A good example tailored in Dough skin, complete with General Service buttons, correct thin brown leather chinstrap and bronze cap badge. The interior with cotton lining and leather sweatband. Minor age wear, GC. (£100 - £125)
798     WW1 British Army B Pattern Brodie helmet.
A very clean example, the skull with green rough painted finish, The interior with black oilskin lining and netting. To the crown a felt cushion retaining small paper label. Complete with leather chin strap. Little age wear Near VGC (£150 - £200)
799     Inter War / WW2 Period British War Foreign Service Helmet
A very good example of the issue pattern Wolseley pattern helmet. khaki cloth with three fold pagri. Complete with leather chinstrap, sweatband and silver paper lining to the crown. VGC Near unissued condition ... Accompanied by issue pattern wax cotton storage bag. (£60 - £100)
800     Bengal Light Cavalry Officer’s Shako Chin Scales.
A scarce pair of Sheffield Plated shako scales. The bosses are embossed with floral decoration and these support graduated silvered scales. Retaining velvet backing cloth and section of leather strap with buckle. GC (£100 - £150)
801     WW2 War Correspondent’s beret and a pair of shoulder titles.
A good rare brown beret, leather bound, by Kangol Wear Limited; the light khaki cotton lining bearing WD Broad Arrow and dated 1945. The front bears cap badge comprising a circular bullion chain on a green cloth ground; within the chain, on a lined bullion ground, the letter “C”. Hole to centre of badge. Generally VGC ... together with a pair of gold wire on green BRITISH / WAR CORRESPONDENT slip on shoulder titles. VGC (3 items) (£120 - £150)
802     South Wales Borderers Pre WW1 Officer’s Dress Cap.
A good example tailored by J Jones & Co London. Dark blue cloth with scarlet piping to the welt of the crown. The black leather peak with a row of bullion. To the front a silvered regimental cap badge. Cotton lining and leather sweatband. Overall GC. A little age wear and slight fading to areas of lace cap band. (£50 - £100)
803     2nd (Queen’s) Dragoon Guards Troopers “Albert” pattern helmet.
A scarce example, the brass skull with ornate plume holder of gilt metal supporting a black horsehair plume, with gilt rose boss. To the front, within a gilt metal wreath of laurel and oak, a crowned rococo shield mounted by a silvered eight pointed star bearing oval gilt metal strap inscribed “Queens Dragoon Guards”; VR Cypher to center. Both the front and back peaks are ornamented with applied acanthus leaves; two gilt rose bosses support the velvet lined chinchain (replacement) The interior with a replacement black leather sweatband. To the crown, below the plume base is evidence of damage and crude solder repair, this does not effect the overall appearance as covered by the plume. Overall GC. Restored. (£400 - £600)
804     Hussar / Yeomanry Pattern Troopers Busby.
This is a good clean example of black fur and mounted with a plain scarlet bag. Fitted with a silvered plume holder which supports a scarlet and white horsehair short plume. The interior with leather and wax cotton sweatband. Complete with a silvered chinchain with leather backing and white cords to the body. GC. (£100 - £150)
805     Royal Company of Archers head-dress.
A scarce example of a Tam-o-shanter. Dark blue wool cloth, edged to the band with a line of crimson velvet mounted with black mohair plain lace. To the crown a scarlet pom pom. Retaining fine quality gilt post 1901 badge, this mounted onto a black silk boss and then set onto a cream silk backing. Retaining tails, gilt bright GC Little age wear. (£60 - £100)
806     WW2 3rd Sikhs 12th Frontier Regiment Officer’s Field Service Cap, Badges & Medals.
These items are attributed to Major R.A.S.M. Pryce. Comprising: Field Service Side Cap. Buff cotton material with scarlet cloth crown and peak flash. The welt of the crown with gold bullion piping. To the front two plain silvered dome buttons and complete with a cast regimental cap badge. The interior with tailor’s label “E. Pearson” India. Service & age wear, some small moth holes ... Medal group 1939/45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal. mounted as worn ... Corresponding miniature medals ... Pair of white metal 12 F.F. Regt titles ... 807     King’s Own Norfolk Imperial Yeomanry OR’s helmet.
A good Edward VII period example of the trooper’s helmet. Black patent leather skull, mounted with gilt metal laurel leaf band decoration. To the front, a regimental pattern helmet plate comprising a Crowned EVIIR cypher within a laurel wreath. A tri-part title scroll “King’s Own Norfolk Impl Yeomy” to the base of the wreath. A fluted spike supports a saffron yellow horse hair plume, with rose head boss. Two rose head bosses support a interlinked brass chin chain (now with replacement velvet backing). Retains leather liner. A good clean example with minor age wear. (£400 - £600)
808     Scottish. Fife Light Horse Victorian Trooper’s helmet.
A fine example of the 1871 pattern silvered helmet. To the front, a regimental pattern helmet plate bearing the Thane of Fife on horseback wearing full armour set against a gilt brass ribbed satire. This in turn mounted onto a four pointed silvered star, the uppermost displaced by a crown. A tri-part scroll with motto and to the centre FLH in gilt metal. Two rose head bosses support a silvered interlinked chin chain, ( now with replacement velvet backing backing). A silvered spike supports a white horsehair plume, with silvered rose boss. Retains leather liner. GC (£500 - £600)
This pattern of helmet was approved by the regiment in 1896
809     Grenadier Guards Guardsman’s Bearskin
A good brown fur issue example, with white plume to left side. Complete with graduated brass, leather backed, chin chain. Retains leather lining and wicker frame. GC (£100 - £150)
810     General Officer’s cocked hat.
Black beaver skin body, to the left side a black silk rosette with a double loop of gold bullion twist open cord, with a single bullion purl button. The cocked hat is ornamented with black lace of oak leaf and acorn design. At each end, bullion tassels, set onto crimson. Leather sweatband and crimson silk pleated lining, with gold tailor’s label of J. Daniels & Co London. Accompanied by feather plume of white over scarlet (10 inches as per dress regulations). Minor age wear, bullion slightly dulled, GC (£125 - £150)
811     5th (Princess Charlotte of Wales’s) Dragoon Guards
A, scarce 1871 pattern Officer’s helmet. Fire gilt skull decorated with laurel leaves; to the front a helmet plate of silvered cut star overlaid with a gilt title strap P.C.W. Dragoon Guards encircling a silvered 5 against a gilt backing plate. A gilt spike supports a white over red regimental pattern horsehair plume with gilt rose boss. To each side are rose head bosses The interior retains original quilted cotton lining. The overall condition is good and the gilt remains bright. The skull has a number of small dents overall. Chin chain absent. (£600 - £800)
812     Victorian Field Marshal & General Officer Pattern Forage Cap.
A rare example of the pattern worn from 1855 to 1897. Dark blue melton cloth with a 2 inch band of gold bullion lace of oak leaf and acorn design. To the crown a pearl button with loop bullion lace. The patent leather peak with a row of bullion. The interior is complete with leather sweatband and quilted brown silk lining. Bullion remains fresh. GC ... Housed in a metal storage tin. (No name plate present). (£300 - £500)
813     Victorian Lancashire Hussars Officer’s Pillbox Cap.
Dark blue melton cloth with a wide band of silver lace of regimental pattern. To the welt of the crown a silver bullion cord line, to the center a silver bullion pearl button with ornate lace decoration. Complete with leather sweatband bearing initials “R.H.A” and crimson silk lining. Bullion dulled, some age wear. (£100 - £150)
814     Officer’s Gold Bullion Busby or Cap Lines.
A good fresh set of lines terminating with acorn devices. Bullion bright and clean GC. (£40 - £60)
815     Gloucestershire Regiment bandsman’s helmet.
This example is based on the Wolseley foreign service helmet. Dark blue cloth with four fold pagri. The helmet retains white metal spike, anodised regimental badge to the front and brass back badge to the rear. Complete with brass chin chain. Leather sweatband to the interior GC. (£50 - £100)
817     1st Huntington Light Horse (Duke of Manchester’s) 1860’s helmet plate.
A fine and scarce die-stamped silvered example worn on the black leather helmet. Ducal crowned “MV” cypher resting on bi-part scroll “1st or Duke of Manchester’s”. One screw post and six blades to reverse. Fracture between cypher and scroll on right side. GC (KK 1592) (£300 - £400)

818     2nd VB East Kent Regiment Victorian Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet with Pill Box Cap
A very good and scarce pre 1901 example of an Officer's Home Service Pattern green cloth helmet. The helmet is complete with blackened silvered metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses supporting a velvet backed gimp chin chain. To the front, a blackened silvered metal Maltese pattern cross, to the centre a the horse of Kent, encircled with a title strap “Eat Kent Regt 2 Vol Battn” . Leather sweatband with crimson silk edging to interior, Very good Condition ... Accompanied by a Pill Box Cap of dark green cloth with a wide band of mohair lace. To the crown a pearl button and loop decoration. The interior with leather sweatband and quilted crimson silk lining. This with tailor’s details of Hobson & Sons. Near VGC ... Both hats contained in original metal storage tin with brass engraved name plate “E.H. Heare 2 VB East Kent Regt”. (3 items) (£500 - £750)
819     Suffolk Regiment Victorian 1878 pattern Officer’s helmet.
A Victorian example of the Home Service blue cloth helmet complete with gilt metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses which support the velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt eight pointed star, the topmost point displaced Crown; mounted on the star, a gilt laurel wreath enclosing the Garter with silver two tower regimental Castle to centre set on a black velvet ground. To the base of the wreath, an applied silver tri-part scroll inscribed “The Suffolk Regiment”. The interior retains crimson silk topped, leather sweatband. The helmet retains a good shape, but now with one or two moth holes. Wear to velvet backing centre of the badge, gilt worn (£400 - £600)
820     East Kent Regiment Victorian 1878 pattern Officer’s helmet.
A Victorian example of the Home Service blue cloth helmet complete with gilt metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses which support the leather backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt eight pointed star, the topmost point displaced Crown; mounted on the star, a gilt laurel wreath enclosing the Garter with silver regimental dragon to centre set on a black velvet ground. To the base of the wreath, an applied silver tri-part scroll inscribed “The East Kent Regiment”. The interior retains crimson silk topped, leather sweatband. Gilt badge and furniture bright and matching, evidence of another badge having been worn at some time. GC (£400 - £600)
821     Victorian Royal Engineers Officer’s Forage Cap.
A good example tailored by Landon & Co of London. Dark blue melton cloth with a broad band of gold regimental lace to the body. The patent leather peak with a band of gold bullion. To the crown with a gold bullion pearl button and to the welt of the a line of bullion cord. The interior with leather sweatband and quilted silk lining. Bullion fresh, GC little wear. (£100 - £150)
822     WW2 1941 dated Grenadier Guards Officer’s Field Service Side Cap.
A scarce example of dark blue cloth, with gold bullion cord and bullion regimental device flaming grenade. Complete with mounted gilt buttons and cotton lining to the interior. The latter with tailor’s label of “Edward Smith” and ink name “R.W. Selby 1941”. Good clean condition. (£60 - £100)
