| 961     Napoleonic War Period Royal Navy Officers Sword. Closely following the 1805 pattern, this sword with a single edged straight blade, with engraved decoration, incorporating a Royal Arms and a Crowned fouled anchor. This latter design is repeated to the rounded langets of the hilt. Single bard guard and shagreen grip, with this wire binding. Plain pommel and backstrap. Housed in original black leather scabbard. The sword with some age wear, blade with some pitting, engraving clear. Gilt worn. The scabbard is A/F and broken, chape and throat mounts absent. Middle band and loose ring present. (£200 - £300) This sword is attributed to Lieutenant Francis Noble, appoint Lt 28th June 1808 and invalided due to wounds 1814. |

| 964     Grenadier Guards Officers sword of Air Commodore Viscount Carlow. A fine example retailed by Edward Smith of London, Straight single edged blade, with etched decoration incorporating a crowned GVR Cypher, Armorial Crest, regimental device and Battle Honours. The hilt of regulation pattern, the guard incorporating the flaming grenade device. shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in steel scabbard. VGC Near Parade Condition. (£300 - £500) This sword is attributed to Viscount Carlow George Lionel Seymour Dawson-Damer. He was commissioned in the Grenadier Guards in 1927. In 1931 he was commissioned Pilot Officer in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and at the outbreak of WW2 he was commanding 600 (City of London) Squadron R.Aux.A.F. He was killed on active service whilst with this squadron, now with the rank of Air Commodore on the 17th April 1944 at the age of 36 |

| 968     Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Officers sword A good example of the Scottish Highland 1831 pattern sword. The straight doubled edged blade with central fuller is etched with a GVR Cypher, panels of thistles, regimental title and crest. To the forte the Retailers details of Anderson. Full nickel plated basket guard with pierced heart panel design enclosing a shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Retaining full buff leather and scarlet faced lining, with blue silk edging and crimson tassel. Housed in field service leather scabbard, with nickel chape. | 969     15th Kings Hussars, Officers Patent Hilted Sword by Wilkinson. Later South Irish Horse & Tank Corps A very good example attributed to Lieutenant Colonel Harry Egerton Norton 15th Kings Hussars attached South Irish Horde, Commanding Officer 18th Bn Tank Corps. The sword with etched decoration, incorporating the regimental device and title EVIIR Cypher and entwined initials of the original owner. To the forte the cutlers details of Wilkinson London and the blade numbered 39198 (1901). The Wilkinson patent hilt with pierced honeysuckle guard and all steel grip. Housed in heavy black leather field service scabbard, following dress regulations for the Tank Corps. Overall VGC, near Parade condition. (£400 - £600) Lieutenant Colonel Harry Egerton Norton volunteered for service in South Africa with the Imperial Yeomanry and served as a Corporal, before receiving a commission into the Manchester Regiment in June 1901, he then transferred and is shown as a Second Lieutenant with the 15th Kings Hussars with effect of the 25th December 1901. Lieutenant 1903, Captain 1909. He retired with this rank in 1911. At the outbreak of WW1 he was still on the muster of the 15th, but now attached to the South Irish Horse and in 1915 was Adjutant of the Regiment. and went on to Command the 7th (South Irish Horse) Bn of the Royal Irish Regiment. He then was appointed CO of the 18th Bn Tank Corps which was being formed in England and went back to France with it at the beginning of October. With the end of the war he remained in the Army serving with the tank Corps until 1922 when his name disappears from the Army list |

Allen and a family crest The hilt with a fixed guard incorporating crowned VR cypher, Shagreen grip with copper twist wire binding. Housed in original steel scabbard. Etching clear. Gilt and scabbard dulled GC. (£120 - £150) The 1878 Army list shows a A.B. Allen serving with the Commissariat & Transport Department. |

| 984     French Napoleonic War Period Naval Officers Fighting Sword. A scarce example with a flat unfullered single edged curved blade. The gilt metal hilt with a three bar open incorporating a shell design embossed with sailing ship man of war, with three fleur de lis above. The grip retains wire binding and this is surmounted by a plain pommel and backstrap. The reverse of the grip with a shell thumb guard. Blade now with a black patina. Scabbard absent. (£350 - £500) By decent through the family. This sword was capture by Lieutenant Francis Noble, whos 1805 pattern sword is included in the sale. |

| 992     Crimean War Period Adams Patent five shot revolver retailed by Rigby of Dublin A rare .500 caliber 7 3/4 inch rifled barreled example. Blued octagonal barrel, with solid frame, the top flat, engraved Wm & Jno Rigby Dublin. The frame body, with foliage engraving and Adams Patent No. 303871. To one side is stamped Adams Patent 1851. Side sprung half cock safety, double action trigger, five shot plain cylinder bearing London proof marks. One piece walnut checkered grips, with steel butt cap and trapdoor nipple box. Grip strap engraved with the owners initials B.E.W.. Some wear to the bluing Good Condition. (£600 - £800) |

The barrel stamped with proof marks and acceptance stamps. The flintlock of standard military form with swan neck cock. the lock plate stamped Sherwood Elm wood hand rail full stock with heavy brass military pattern furniture. Comprising: Trigger guard, serpent side plate and single ram rod pipe. Retaining remnants of its original wooden ramrod. Butt plate possibly replaced during its working life. | 995     1853 pattern three band Enfield Rifle. A well used example of this second model rifle. The rifled barrel with lift up leaf sight and military proof marks. The standard pattern lock, dated 1861 over Enfield and Crowned VR to the tang. The barrel held in place by three steel barrel bands. Walnut stock and brass furniture. Stock with Enfield issue stamp. Complete with original jag ended ramrod, and sling swivels. With heavy service wear, steel now bright. (£200 - £250) This pattern of Enfield was also heavily used during the American Civil War. |
