We are delighted and privileged to be in the process of selling the highly important and internationally known
JOHN GAYLOR BADGE COLLECTION

The late John Gaylor joined the Intelligence Corps in 1944 and was posted to the RWAFF. He served in India and Burma with 82nd West African Division and later served with the London Scottish, Special Air Service and 44 Parachute Brigade TA. He was Secretary of the Military Historical Society for many years and a great authority on all things military.
John started collecting at the end of WW2 and over the years amassed a highly important and extensive collection which culminated in his much aclaimed authoritative reference book "Military Badge Collecting" a popular "bible" , now in its 7th edition, used by badge collectors universally.
His great wealth of knowledge on the Indian Army was also shared with others when he produced the splendid book "Sons of John Company" which charts the history of India's armies from their beginning, through the East India Company era to the present day and includes information on all the Auxiliary Forces.

The first part of this historic collection comprises British Army headdress badges, the second part, John's real passion, comprises an extensive range of Indian Army headdress badges, pouch belt plates, titles etc.
Due to the vast size of the collection, it is being sold over numerous sales.
